is my temp to high?

Hey guys I made a stealth box like someone else on this forum...dont have the link but its made out of 2 storage bins..anyway its all good except I think my temp might be to high..right now its staying around 85 with the lights on and its been running for 3 hours so far..I have 2 pc fans..one exhausting the other is intake and I have a small oscillating fan..also I have 2 vent holes on the bottom towards the back..

shit..well they have not started to sprout up yet..I just put the seeds in bc they were done germinating..how can I fix this? Got another question..are the good old fashion thermometers ok to use?

can anyone help? I took one storage container off the box and I have my lights hanging in my closet over one box with the plant in it..and I got a digital temp reader..the temp is still 84 degrees..

sounds like a small set up, how many watts? 85 may be ok for what you are doing. If its a small op, and not much invested or expected, then you may be ok.

Its very small I only have two plants going right now..and I have 2 lights hanging at 68watts each..think ill be ok?

I gotta agree, 85 isn't terrible. I got a great yield my second time when the flowering temps were in that mid 80s range.

85 isn't terrible, but is simply UNNACCEPTABLE! LOL.... It's really not THAT bad, but as everyone should know, the magic number is 76. Now.... why hasn't anyone informed this guy that HEAT RISES? PUT THE VENTS IN THE TOP.

thanks guys..I took the lid off so get some venting on the top for now till I can cut some new holes in the lid..idk why I put them on the back lol..guess I wasn't thinking.

Leave the top off and watch the temps DROP! Are the plants showing signs ofheat stress?- Droopy leaves, yellowing on the uppermost leaves edges?

it will be fine. My growing goom, despite having an air conditioner, often gets up to 90 and usually hovers around 71-85. Its not ideal but i don't have a choice and the are growing fine.

Well I only have seeds in the pots right now..they germed right but I'm just waiting for them to come out of the soil...so I have time to change things before the plants grow..I kept the lid off and the temps were not going down..they were actually going up to about 90degrees so I took out the 68watt(4200lumen) bulbs and put in some 27watt(1400lumen) and checked it this morning and the box is sitting at 75-76degrees :weed:
Do you think the 27watts will do good for vegging? I could just get some better ones for budding..also what is the humidity suppose to be? Thanks for all the help guy I really appreciate it !

U took the lid off ant the temps went up??? I could see it not going down, but not up. Wth?..... humidity should be aroud 50% for veg. 27watters will do fine if u have enough of them. I think those 68 watters u had in there were just plain to hot for ur setup. I got my setup in a little closet with a 400hps and 8 cfls, with an ac, plus two fans, and my temps still get into the mid 80's. Just gotta play with it till u get it thats all.

I have a 600 watt HPS in a homemade tent... it's 36"x20"x54" amd I have zero issues with heat... lower 70's is not a problem at all...

Ventilation is key...

Do you think 2 lights are enough? I have 3 pots right now..

Nope. 2 lights will get three going if u cram em together under them, but it won't be sufficient for long. I'd try to get at least one of those cfls per seedling, then keep adding them on as they get bigger.

Those are just clamp on fixtures without the bell reflector that they come with. Theyre like $6 at Home Depot. Put 'Y' splitters for the bulbs, and I clamp em right onto the rim of the pot and adjust them as neccessary. Honestly, I don't think humidity's too big of an issue. Mine sits at 16% nowdays:wall:, I just gotta water em more often.
