Is rooting hormone absolutely necessary for clones?

hey guys. so im cheap as shit and would rather not buy rooting hormone if it isnt absolutely essential. if i take some clones, will they develop roots on their own without it?

no, imvho, rooting hormone isn't required to root clones... my moms has been taking cuttings from plants and simply sitting them in a glass of water in a window sill since i was a wee lad, and she's grown more cutting then i probably ever will

while cannabis isn't the same as a house plant, i agree, it's not all that different either.. :D

My mom does the same thing, has a whole house full of cuttings from flowers and plants that she's found and liked over the years. Quite cool and quite easy. I've tried just cutting em off and sticking em right back in the soil, or into a glass of water. Some work, some don't. It's just a thing.
