Is she beyond salvation?

Appreciate that the hps is on but you can see pretty well whats going on. Clearly heat stress as leaves are curled up. This seedling is 1 week and 3 days old and the new leaves are all crinkled and squashed up. The light is a 250w hps in a tent, cant get the temp to read below 32c-35c but the reader is black and i feel it absorbs heat. Humidty has not gone above 30% too.

Its an auto, 3 others in there with it that are curling but a bit bigger and stronger. Ive moved the light from about 12inches away to 18 inches in the hope it helps. Put some water and wet towell in but im not sure it will help. Any suggestions?

Give them time, if the roots took off they will likely g t some shoots going. Then again, I understand autos to not recover all that well, at least yield wise. Good luck! I've been there!

They're not dead so they have a chance.. the water does help humidity.. get a sprayer and mist the area..
Good luck

Switch out that light for a few CFLs until they are big enough to handle stronger light. Once they are get a metal halide grow bulb for the early stage of vegging your autos.

A few CFLs will help keep the temps down too.

Place frozen water bottles (filled with water of cause) inside the grow area near the air inlet. This will reduce ur temps by a fair bit and help you get Humidity up.

Thanks for the advide guys. The towels worked well and humidity up to 60% peak now. After 2 days of no change i decided to top it in a last ditch effort. I know autos dont like it but it was that or kill it. Seems to be perking up a bit now!

So i topped this little straggler and shes certainly found a new lease of life. The issue is shes all messed up. The leaves are all different, some have 5 leaves, some have 3 some arent symetrical and some are. One of the two heads from topping is looking better than the other. Im sure ill get something out of her, but is it worth it or should i kill her off?

Everyone occasionally has a seedling get off to a bad start. I used to nurse them along but only 1 gave good results. Now I just cut my loses and start over. Your decision, but if she doesn't show vigor quickly, I would chop.

I had a helmet head before that stunted and as it was auto under cfl the height difference made it an issue and i culled it after a few weeks.

Now im on hps, is it as much of an issue? My thinking being light distance is not as important!

No matter the light source .. keeping an even canopy is important.. raise shorter plants closer..
train taller plants to be shorter... or both!

Light distance with hps is important. Hps cause plants to stink, especially if they're too close.
Has your temp gone down? And Remember that light doesn't spread out flat, it is curved, so directly under the bulb the light is more intense. Adjust accordingly. Good luck.
