I also try not to pull leaves unless they are
1 very old dull like a senior citizen :)
2 way in the shade and blocking AIRflow.

Otherwise i try to leave them.

I have stripped my plants naked but i always forget to leave an untouch "control" plant to see any benifit. But i dont think it really ever hurt my yields

I would leave it full and bushy. Let it grow into the net. Let the net do the work, shaping the plant, pushing it out to the sides, wide. This way, you won't need to remove leaves. Your plant will be short enough that you won't have to worry about Penetration (your light punching through the leaves).

Once you've filled the screen out, you can cut the stuff under there off.
