What state are you from? I've been in the medical industry for 10 years on and off BM and retail. I last worked for a company training staff on education and compliance and ended up leaving the company as the ethos wasn't for me anymore shortly after the company sold the business for 85.8 million and fires a majority of the staff. That's because of the way the laws are written. I can legally have (as patient/cardholder), 24 mature (flowering) plants, and 24 seedlings. Most people are going to the BM without having to do reporting to the State, GPS tracking, SQ788 fees, State fees, local fees, seed to sale software fees, OBNDD fees, .... it's just too much for a grow op. Your fees and expenses outweigh your retail sales figures. Most people are just growing as patients, and then selling to the BM.... the State doesn't come and check on patients, or do inspections, or any of that other bullshit.
It ain’t easy brother. Snakes everywhere, bad business people, a crashing market… it’s a clusterfuck. Oklahoma btw. What state are you from? I do love this plant and the journey i've been on with her but being financially supported is a must which is a lot tougher for the little guy. Going through all the legalities you really need investors to do things by the book as a producer, processor and grower.
I don’t know if we had gone vertical that we would have been better off in the long run, at least in D town. Too many of them. The very first one just sold out May 1st. But!, I think you’re right, this METRC system is gonna push some people out, and hopefully this will restore the market, and it will self level. This whole thread is why vertical integration is key and having your own dispensaries. Also anyone in ok in the thread talking to omma they straight up said seed to sale is to weed out growers. Not even 5% has registered with the state and they ok know some good ppl will get pushed out but bad ones too. All in all it comes down to.shrinking the industry here and they said that will help the prices overall. Either way I can still get 12 to 15 a gram no issue so at the low end still making 5400 a p.
I have a a couple of gromies in Michigan. Elbows are going for 800-1200 rn and that's quality stuff. The market is going to be flooded for a few years like everywhere else. The only way your getting high prices is if your in a illegal state rn.Like the title says. I for one have always had no problem my stuff was gone before it was done. I have never been able to keep up with demand. When I saw other people bitching I just figured they didn’t have good quality.
Well I’m sitting on some of the best weed I’ve ever grown. It seems all of the sudden there is no market for weed and it seems like it happened over night. Im seeing people take less than it cost to grow a lb. Just so they can get by.
Im shutting down half my rooms and dropping all patients that don’t shop with me throughout the month and only want their free oz. I’m thinking of looking for new patients on the conditions they are heavy smokers and won’t go to the store to buy shwag to save 30-40 bucks from my already discounted quality herb.
Pics so you can see what I mean quality wise. I mean I know the stores are cheaper now, but not for stuff like this.
Okay won’t let me attach pics for some reason right now I’ll try on next post
Do you have any pics of what the quality looks like?I have a a couple of gromies in Michigan. Elbows are going for 800-1200 rn and that's quality stuff. The market is going to be flooded for a few years like everywhere else. The only way your getting high prices is if your in a illegal state rn.
Not sure about Michigan but the last sentence is so wrong in my legal state.I have a a couple of gromies in Michigan. Elbows are going for 800-1200 rn and that's quality stuff. This is true, there is a clear pattern for how the markets evolve. In a few cases there were true believers who got this going i.e. Colorado, but for the most part in the transition between illegal and then legal...but the large players havent fully vertically integrated and squeezed out the small guys...there is a market for quality as good or better than the stores that costs less. Not sure about Michigan but the last sentence is so wrong in my legal state.
F$&) Illinois and the way they legalized. The ass hats who lobbied to get rec here also pushed against homegrown for rec. and ….. the dispo weed sux so bad lol People that try mine begging me to sell but I just can’t. Honestly fu$& some Illinois.I grow for myself and a family member under the radar. So I can’t speak to the market as a producer, but...
A friend in TX contacted me about some gummies (CBD/THC) for her Mom. I told her the price here, then suggested she find a friend in OK with a med card. And sent her links to my local dispensary (IL) and a link to one in OK.
Holy-Effin’-Shit, what a difference in cost. IL structured their industry to keep prices up because taxes are a percentage of price. So the state wins with higher prices. And since we’re an island in a sea of prohibition, it’ll work for awhile.

Yeah a lot of people dropped their prices, I’m glad I held out. It’s hard to go back up once you go down. Markets moving again albeit slower than before. I’m working on building a brand and doing more vending events. And I’m about to start doing rosin.I have a a couple of gromies in Michigan. Elbows are going for 800-1200 rn and that's quality stuff. I’ve figured out (kinda late) that a lot of the guys that used to buy high end flower now only smoke rosin. I’ve talked to one of the more popular rosin guys up here and he is gonna test wash some of my strains to see what’s worth washing. Will be nice cause his stuff is in high demand.I make my own rosin now and I gotta say I only really smoke flower at work now. Attached is some I pressed at 190.
Love that "bag appeal"! What strain?
I had not read far enough through the thread, I saw the names....Love that "bag appeal"! What strain?
