Is there a better way to heat my grow shed?

Set up your environment to cool only. A 60-70 pint dehumidifier should run lights off with room sealed, and keep temps fine.

You don't NEED fresh air or CO2 all the time. Even sealed most of the time if you get a CO2 monitor you will see your CO2 levels will be well within spec.

Pretty much, but sealed room really does need a co2 injection of some kind. Might as well boost if its all ready setup to.

But yes, I forgot that the dehumidifier throws some heat out! Solves most heating issues when lights are off for sure.

Only thing is some setups do require a small heater inside the grow space. During lights off, some get too cold. But the room is sealed, so the heater only runs for a few minutes all the heat is contained.

Again, use that outside air to your advantage, but only for the lights and the space around the panda film walls. Doing all this keeps the co2 sealed in the room and keeps the environment in there consistent.

Also, I would put a scrubber on the lights intake. Panda film doesn't hold smell back too well.[/QUOTE]

who said anything about a game? I asked you how is he going to heat at night
Ok I see how you want to build
and thanks for agreeing the a small heater is fine in a INSULATED space.

which is essentially what your saying is that he builds an insulatung dead air space ? To heat the cold air first huh
Great idea and enjoy your game

also I agree with using a dehumidifier as a heater in a small room but it only heats when its on

A little R2D2 in room AC/Heat and a CO2 Burner. Space heater wouldn't hurt just make sure its in an open space...

Never fluctuates more than 3-4 degrees day/night. Humidity stays within 5-8%. Just has to be under 60F outside, didn't need a heater even when it was -12F below last winter. 20lb bottle of co2 last for 4+ weeks under 2k.

I don't get peaks.
Well good for you!.. youre so awesome!!! !!@!11!!

Meh.. I dont have a temp recorder, but 3 degrees outside of my 85 setpoint is fine by me. Temps will continue to drop so im good, Im not going to worry about it till February. I just need a bigger exhaust fan. thats all.

No it doesn't "NEED". Been there done that. Rooms breath, and you open the door once a day your good. Don't believe me buy yourself a CO2 meter. I have one, I know.

Just say almost sealed cause a sealed room SHOULD have 0 air movement besides what is predetermined by the grower

if not then dont say sealed as some people really do have air tight (as close as possible) rooms and your plants may not die but I guarantee you could have better with fresh air or co2
just my exp is all no offense

Blue flames will run lp or propane. Can you get a tank set, can you get 100 lb tanks.
It will heat fast, and a small one is pretty efficient. I run one in the front room of a basement.
Maybe 20-30 bucks different on the bill.

I also had one at another house that we had a tank set. The tank will last most of the winter if run intermittent.

Like tty said you get the added benefit of CO2.
I second this idea, but there is a risk of buring your shed down...or possibly exploding. I guess that risk is there with any heater. I have a similar style heater in my basement we only use when we're down there, and it runs on our natural gas - my house hasn't blown up yet.

Yeah, see I have had a Sentinell PPM4 for the better part of a decade. Under 4k, if I pulled the co2, the plants would suck the co2 below atmospheric levels inside half a day. Happens every time my bottles run out, and my controller stores high/low levels that show this.

If you don't need co2, its because your room is not sealed and/or you are entering/exiting so often that it is defeating the purpose of a sealed room.

I leave the grow sections alone for almost a year, come back and two posts later a bunch of noobs are trying to educate me. Apparently, everyone has figured out how to get 1.5-2lbs a light and ya'll don't need me anymore.

How could it be better with "fresh" air when the plants wont need o2 and the co2 levels are below 400 with this "fresh" air?

Please explain, I have a bowl full of popcorn and laughs waiting.....

Noob...lol ok.

Its been years since I did all this testing, but I'd test it again to prove a point. Right now I cant find the AC adapters to my CO2 meters, they're somewhere.

If the room is sealed air tight (vapour barrier behind walls, caulking all seams etc), this will be a bigger issue yes. But for general construction rooms breath. And this is lights off, the OP can vent during lights on.

What are you recommending CO2? This is a shed grow, get real.

I meant that fresh air would be better than a seald room with stagnant air didnt you read?

I get the same numbers you do no big deal no co2 either
and I probably do it in a smaller space then you do.

I DO AGREE that the plants will suck out all useable c02 in a "sealed" room
Eat as much popcorn as you want
you haven't said anything that makes me feel intimidated or out grown

I never said it was better to run no air exchange, I said you don't NEED to. Meaning it would always be better to exchange air, but its not as necessary as most people think.
If it comes down to exchanging air, and subjecting the plants to cold temps/wasting heating electricity, then it shouldn't be done.

I have my CO2 meters working, one does data logging (but rs232, not sure I have anything with a serial port anymore) and one saves high and low CO2 in memory.

Give me some time, and I will test this out and post numbers. If I'm wrong I'll admit it.

As currently my exhaust/intake is running 50% of the time, I am hoping your memory serves. Love to reduce it to something much less.
