What he said. I am not an electrician, but I have a very good understanding of electricity, and I sought out and studied applicable sections of the electrical code to make sure that i did it right. I have run subpanels from the man panel, installed breakers, wired basements and attics. All the information you need is out on the internet (i.e. google "how to install a circuit breaker" "electrical code for residential" ).Electrical work can be dangerous, but with proper precautions it is very easy if you're one of the those handy people.
You CAN do this yourself.
Put in 20A outlets, wire and breakers. Use GFCI or AFCI breakers where required. FOLLOW THE CODE. This does two things: it ensures that you are installing safely AND when you are 20 years gone from the house it ensures that someone doesn't get electrocuted or burn down the house.
