Is there any kind of manual CO2 timer?

I have a 2'x2'x5.5' closet I will be growing in, and I will be using CO2 because of heat issues. I believe the temperature of the closet will stay below 92 degrees most days, so my plan is to keep the intake/exhaust closed off and open/turn it on manually on very hot days. Otherwise there is no ventilation except when I open the closet, so what I am looking for is some kind of timer for the CO2 that I can set manually right before I close the closet door to fill up the room a single time, until the next time I open the closet.

Anyone have any ideas?

The closet is not airtight. co2 will dissipate in an hour or less after putting it in. I think you need a way to keep temps down. The co2 might allow heat to be higher in veg but when you get to flower you will still have a heat problem.

Okay, so here's the deal. According to everything I've read you're wrong about CO2 and flowering (though if you got a source for that I'm down to hear it). You're also wrong about my closet, which while not airtight is very very close. It's got a door on it that seals pretty damn well and the closet otherwise is (almost) airtight (don't trouble yourself over what "almost" means, it doesn't matter. If it's not good enough and the CO2 will dissipate, then that's just the way it is, oh well. The only reason I even mentioned the temperature is so people wouldn't have to post stuff that wasn't relevant to my situation (ever wonder where those high post counts come from?). Why don't we just assume that I've given a lot of thought to my complex situation and that I have a pretty good idea what I need? So, back to my original, very simple question:

Is there a way, before I close my closet door, to set the CO2 to run for a specific amount of time to fill up the closet to 1500 ppm and then shut itself off? I don't care at all whether the concentration drops due to air leakage after the CO2 shuts itself off. Preferably it would take me 15 seconds or less to set it to do so. All I'm interested in is the equipment and how it would work. Would a timer (or timers) do the job, and how would I set it/them? This is the last thing I need to figure out before I start growing right away. Again, any actual help is much appreciated.

Dude, ya can do it, but ya dont only have leakage to worry about, yer plants are going to consume those 1500 PPM VERY quickly w/out a constant supply (even an intermittent one), being given.
But, yes, ANY flow meter can be manual. Most of the regulators sold @ hydro shops just need to NOT be hooked up to the timer.

If it's not hooked up to a timer, though, won't it just continue to flow until the tank is empty? Don't I need some kind of timer I can set to have it run for 15 minutes?

manual? timer? isnt the point of a timer so that it gos off by its self without a button being pressed?

I've never used a timer. I only want it to work when I open my closet, so I'm pretty sure I need to hit something myself, right? Most timers are meant to run without a button press because it's a "set it and forget it" kind of thing, but I need something that I can set and have it run for a specific interval and no more.

Ok, as stated previously I want the timer to run for 15 minutes. My question is if I can manually set that timer to run for 15 minutes and no longer (not on a schedule), every time I shut the closet door, and if I can do it quickly (like in 15 seconds).

\how old are you? Of course you can set a timer for 15 minutes! CO2 is only supposed to be on fer 15 minute intervals after the first big concentration every day any way

I'm fucking 28, how old are you? No I didn't buy the timer yet or I wouldn't have had to post here. I just want to make sure I can easily set the timer to run for 15 minutes from the time I set it, and then stop indefinitely. These timers run on 24 hour schedules (as near as I can tell from reading fucking manuals) so I want to make sure there is an easy way to set it to run immediately instead of on a schedule. I know that these timers run for 15 minutes, which is why I chose that interval (obviously).

So, to be very clear, I want to take one of these 24 hour, 15-minute interval timers, and somehow bypass the scheduling to make it run when I tell it, and I would like to be able to do this very quickly each time. If I cannot do this with a timer then please tell me how I can do it, thanks.

Dude, I am just saying that any grade school kid knows that the person sets the timer! Didnt mean to offend. Of course ya can set it @ only 15 minutes. Once ya look @ it, ya will understand why yer question was a lil funny

You should listen to Illegal Smile, kid. Co2 should not be used as a solution to high temperature problems. You should find a real solution to your temperature problem. It can actually raise the temperature of your closet as it's ability to retain heat is better than that of oxygen. :peace:
