Is there too many young leaves around the base of this lady

Hi folks...just wondering if there's too much leaf going on below here...a lot of new wee bud sites appearing and their little leaves seem to me to be clogging up the area. I'm in week 8 of critical kush auto...I've done a fair bit of defoliating over this couple of weeks as it was really taking over the grow space. Plant looks good and healthy though to my novice eyes. Maybe just let it go on ?(Its my 3rd go at this strain, but the other 2 weren't as bushy..but got a lovely smoke from them, even though I nearly wrecked the last one with light stress)

The plant will be fine, extra food for the plant! The more leaves you have the better. I defoliate because my foliage was so dense, the bottom leaves got little to no light. Your plant is open, looks like lots of light penetration. Here was my plant before defoliation.

nice plant :) Thanks Raspberrykiwi, i was concerned maybe there wasn't enough air getting circulating around it maybe and unsure whether to nip a few of them smaller leaves off, but i'll just let it go.

Leaves big or small play an important role in your plant. Leaves are the power plant, the photosynthesis that takes place is on every leaf, not specific leaves. Light spectrums can also penetrate some leaves to the lower leaves even if it doesn’t look like it! This is my plant now. Huge difference, the lower canopy was cleaned up. With every action, there is a reaction. Trimming off smaller nodes that will NEVER make it to the top will use energy. The more energy used on the lower small branches the less energy used at the top of the plant. Lollipopping your plant BEFORE flower helps reduce energy used on lower bud sites and branches. Cutting them off will focus more energy at your apical meristems/tops for maximum bud growth

Thanks Raspberrykiwi would u advise to nip off some of these crowded lower leaves then to help the buds at the top. Is it too late to nip them off....I was thinking about starting the flush this monday coming. I think there is another week or two flowering going on? Any advice regarding that flowering period left judging by these pics

it has more time then that to finnish, depending on what type of high your looking for. wouldent like too say how long, but more then a week.
how long has it been flowering for and is it a cutting, it has close branching, looks nice

Hi gogokid, thanks... I'm in week 5 of flowering, and week 8 overall atm according to my diary. it's an auto. I'll start having a good close look at the diachome in another couple of weeks, i'm just thinking to myself, like raspberry was saying about energy going to these wee branches and sites and not to the bigger sites...whether to trim these out of the way or just let her continue on...is it okay to maybe take some of the leaves off to create a bit more room without hurting plant at this stage ( and if so which leaves should i remove)....i've been doing some tucking of the leaves too. maybe i'm worrying for nothing?

i couldent tell you, i never defoliate, i prune and will do more so now one of my plants was attacked by sheep twice and nearly stripped bare, ythe resulting growth was vast and close nit. its made for some huge colas. but ill let someone with more experiance at defoliation chime in, id hate to give you the wrong info. happy growing

The only reason you should flush, if your plants are burning up or if you have salt deposited building up. But you should be good. Just water with plain water the last 2 weeks of flower. About week 8 when all the pistils(hairs) turn brown/orange. Water with about 10% runoff

Cheers Raspberrykiwi.....I'll do that then, as opposed to a flush...I'll start with plain water from next week then as I think I'm coming up to the last couple of weeks flowering starting from this Monday.(week 6). Thanks again for the all the advice :) much appreciated

I wouldn’t start feeding plain water until AFTER the hairs have all turned orange. They’re still white from what your pics look like. I wouldn’t recommend only water yet!

Feeding Only water will remove nutrients the plant needs to fatten up and become dense and heavy. Feeding only water this early WILL leave you with loose airy buds.

okay cheers for that Raspberrykiwi, so i'll keep on with the nutes for another couple of weeks at least then, or until the pistils are orange before moving to water only.
