This looks a little like some of the pictures I've seen of bud rot, but I'm in a very dry climate, there's been no rain and they are well ventilated. I don't see any other obvious signs of fungus, mold, or mildew when I dig in a little closer to the stem. I do have some leaves turning bright yellow. These are at 12 weeks, gorilla glue auto flower, outdoors. First time grower! Thank you!

Yes it is caused by bugshit! Cattapillars most likely! Snip it off. Take as little as you can but make it clean.

Watch for hatch of them, little crawly fucks, l hate moths so bad!
