its worth it though, you walk down there and would never expect to find something so beautiful, well except the old artwork and antiques.

is there no way u can make or have a bigger box or room in order to grow u need a cloneing station, veg area, flowering etc personally u need to split ur box in 2 veg area and flowering this means u need to make it bigger cause as u put ur girl in flower u can start another in veg.
You got to figure out cubic feet of air in ur box then find a fan that will exhaust it properly anyone can build a box stick a exhaust fan in it an grow away but maintaining proper humidity, heat is the key to any grow,
all them factors are key to having a sucessfull healthy plant and yield

hmm, well in the winter the air could be well under, so maybe I, won't have intake from the outside into the box. maybe just for the tube.

Yeah, I def have looked into everything, I want to have a bi weekly harvest of maybe 3 or 4 small plants. So just a good ole SOG will do. But i was still thinking of maybe tyring this out.

Here is an easy way to setup your grow-space. Just get a fan filter combo from htgsupply.com, it will run you like 150 bucks but i don't think you will regret it. View attachment 1229499
Thanks, I think I would rather built the filter, and put more money to the fan...

I said earlier in the post that i was going to build another box for clones/mother(s). And my box is about 45-50 cubic feet, so from the standard 5 tims per minute means I should have a 250 cfm fan, im not gonna get below 400cfm so i should be good on that.

The second plan, two fans, is the most efficient. Bringing in outside air to the lower intake port isn't necessary. In fact, in winter the cold blast will definitely slow down growth. Maybe worse. Probably won't hurt the cooltube though.
Basement air may also be too cold, if so, exhaust lamp heat into the basement to warm it up. Be sure to put a damper on the intake to help keep it warm at lights out. Added bonus, it'll help lower your overall heat bill as warm air rises into the house.
Basements are the best place to grow because they don't have radical temp. fluctuations. This should ensure basement air to be cool enough even in summer.
BTW, 400w hps should be perfect for that space. Plantlightinghydroponics has the best fan prices on the net. I've bought several Vortex from them over the years.
One question, how close are your neighbors? Hot, steamy air blasting out a basement window 12 hours a day all winter might be a bit suspicious.
Hope this helps,
Fred

Cool, thanks Fred,

Yeah I was begining to think the cold air wouldnt be a good thing, oh well i could try in the summer maybe.."probably won't hurt the cooltube", worries me a bit but i'll most likely make one out of a bake a round if i DIY which i s pyrex and should withstand. I think that the cool air will help keep down tube temps a lot.

Haha, i am actually not very far, but I am raised up off the street about 5 ft, old town old house. Something i didnt mention is that the exhaust for this wold be in the exact same window as my clothes dryer, so hot steamy air does actually come out of there, not 12 hrs a day but i was thinking of venting it past there and around the other side of the house, just around the corner where people can never see.
Also something i forgot to mention is the windows are not normal they lead to those "wells" that are on the side of your house, that you put that plastic shield over, probably only if you have a basement. I forget the names of them but you know what i mean...Anyway the air will come from inside one of those so it may be a bit warmer than directly outside

That should work well. Make sure each exhaust has it's own path out. This will eliminate the chance that one fan will override/stress the other and cause the stink to escape or heat build up. Maybe build a plenum from sheet metal that fits over the whole window. You might find some stuff at HD that would work.
