Pretty fuzzy/shaded pic. If I squint hard enough, I can see either gender.
Seems like I see a couple hairs on the left crotch. Hate to say for sure.

This one had me scratching my head for a week. But she developed last night... I almost cut her down too.

Good thing nobody listens to me.
The plant in the original post has a very thick main stem especially compared to the one that turned out to be female so based on that and the rounded nature of the parts in question I would say this beast is a male. My male in 4 weeks time was 2 feet tall and was about the same thickness as this.
