Is this a mutation?

Hello,
I'm a newbie grower and I decided to go ahead and plant two bag seeds that were given to me by another, I'm a little concerned with the health of the plants though. They both are growing slow, one much slower than the other but still at a snails pace. They still seem to be growing none the less and are still in early stage of life.

The strange part is that both of the plants seem to have an extra, small leaf on their 3 bladed leaves. Is this a mutation? Or is this common? I'll upload an image. Any info about this would be appreciated, and if it is common keep in mind I am new to growing so be kind, thanks!

They look completely normal, the first few sets of leaves can vary in how many blades they have. Dont want to sound harsh because they look nice but if it was me i would order some seeds and scrap them. Purely due to my lack of faith in bagseed genetics.
My first grow was bagseed and yep my first grow was literally all seed no proper bud.
3 months wasted for me. Now i only grow genetics i am confident with.

It's a really common mutation. Sometimes it'll just be a couple leaves here and there, sometimes it'll be a set like you have. It won't affect the plant in any negative way.
I'm going to have to disagree with saul about tossing them, though. You'll get experience growing with plants you don't necessarily care about, and even if it starts to herm like saul's did you get experience spotting that for next time. You might be able to nip off the nanners before pollination (if there are any in the first place, that's not a given).
You could even get some great weed. The only question is, is the risk of growing for a couple of months and getting maybe a herm worth it to you?

Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated. I think I'll keep them growing just for the experience and the chance of getting some buds in the process. If it doesn't work out no harm, no foul.

A lot of your quality strains... Their lineage goes back to bagseed lol. Check it out sometime.

Grow it for the experience, save the money you would have spent on street weed, and buy some quality genetics and lights.

No, don't throw it away. It could be lucky like a four-leaf clover or that coin in No Country for Old Men. Don't throw it out. Your life could depend on it.

Good point, I'll invest in some better genetics from a seedbank one day when I get a bit more experience under the belt, that way I can grow the healthiest plants I can.
