Is this a suitable place to set up for first grow ? [PIC]

This is my wardrobe and its approx 6 feet tall, 180cm.
only growing one or two plants at anyone time for personal use only.
using one red and blue light
possibly using fans
dont have a extractor fan set up and not sure if i will
painting the inside solid white as we speak.

what else can i do ?

hey,
I have similar setup, maybe think cfl's are the way to grow,yu may need a hole at the top to act as passive heat vent,, go for it though, that bar will act as great light hanger,,,Id say top 3 flowering plants you cold get in there. I want to add a shelf and just start,,,if your thinking hydro,maybe a small ebb and flow. or drip system, personally id go with single soil pots, for easy.

Hey Scultar!


I setup a VERY simular wardrobe.
Worked very well. Using it now.

You'll need to drill out holes in the back (2x) for in & out exhaust, line it with Mylar and fashion a Panda film door behind the wood ones.

Last grow in there.




And yeah. HPS will be too hot in here.. Stick with LED or CFLs

Take out that middle wall to free up some room. You should put on a door if it doesn't have one. Light leaks are no good. With that middle piece removed maybe 4 plants with little veg.

hey, thanks for all your replys and yes i do have doors but they are not attatched currently as i am painting the inside of doors solid white.
also if i am to drill 2 holes for in and out flow where is the smell going to end up ?
smell is probibly more improtant than having a big yeild.
also can anybody explain how the electric bill will increase using 2 light one red one blue doing 18/6 - 12/12
possibly one or two fans.

You'll need 2 fans. One to pull out dirty air (Use a Computer CFM Fan, attached with screws on the Top right corner of your cabinet. Use aquarium carbon Filter pads to filter out the smell.) Another CFM fan bottom left (To pull in Clean Air).
The dirty air will be exhausted to the area just outside of the wardrobe. It will smell...

Your planning on using CFL bulbs?

What do you mean by one red and one blue light? You dont mean regular light bulbs that are colored red and blue do you?

Tell us how many watts you intend to use and what your electric company charges per kwh. And we can tell you monthly cost.

red like 2700k blue light 6500k CFL`s
any other way to eliminate the smell then no ?
wont be able to have any smell but on other hand.
im looking at blue mystic so it says it has a nuetral smell during flowering

No way to keep good weed from smelling like good weed. Carbon filters, ona gel, ionizers are all options to control it though.

hey as a quick note for the smell maybe ferment some yeast to add co2 and cover the smell, it smells more like a brewery than ganja so you maybe not want too,,
the mix is one packet ,about 1/5 of a mug,of yeast(I use dried) to one half mug sugar to then 3 mugs tepid/warm water. if the waters to hot the yeast will not ferment, if its too cold same, gotta get it goldy locks style.
just leave enough room in the container for the yeast to bubble up , so half way in a jug say, this will kick out loads of co2 for say an hour or so, just pour half out and top up with tepid water and some sugar and it will grow itself,, its like having a growing liquid with the plants providing co2/
hope that helps.. and try and I bet it will cover any smell with its yeasty -ness, I quite like the smell, others disagree,,well most.

My last grow was Nirvana Blue Mystic and believe me, they smelt; Alot.. There is "NO" strain that is without scent when flowering. (Additionally, in your case.. I expect them to smell.)

ONA PRO-Gel, (Better then the Block) outside the Cabinet will help..
It will smell though.. even with what you plan to do.

ok. suppose i could always open the window in that room and keep the door to the room closed and use ona gel.
wont be able to afford the setup of a carbon filter and electricity bills.

also when you say they smell what sort of smell like the whole house or just the room ?
and do i need to cut hole in the bottom of the back to the plug socket ?
