Is this a wise choice for a new led!?

everything is like that. you can spend A LOT more money to try to eek out a few more percent. simple white light has done a lot of people well. As far as augmenting spectrums with monos, people here just love to tinker, its not that their results with pure white light are unsatisfactory
Yep. I haven't seen anything that just yelled adding monos made a huge difference....... For the most part 90 CRI variants can achieve a similar spectrum as adding monos to 80 and cost wise is much more affordable.

I'm happy for what it is. It replaced the hot noisy hps and worked. However I know there is better out there. Money isn't a massive issue, I just want the best light possible for 1x1m and I'm trying to find out what that is
So stop beeing DumBAss and listen.Best thing is to buy 4-6 cobs, take apart that vshit and put them inside or make yourself cob diy light..other option is quantum boards.. Antything else is crap!! i have 1m2 tent And i have 400w of cobs.. Its the shiznit!!so are i hoing to be a SUCKA or what Boi???

Sorry didn't mean to let that reply . If I was gonna go for amare it would have to be the solar storm. I can't seem to find anything conclusive though showing me the extended spec is worth the extra money. The space is 3.5
3.5' is perfect for the 450.
What extended spec are reffering to?
Plenty of happy folks using them getting the results theyre looking for.
The monos brighten up the cobs a great deal. If I remember correctly from my testing it was about 400 Oooooomohles more under the 450. The plants perk up hard in response.
You can't go wrong w/ Amare, Or a decent white light from a respected comp. that doesn't have a rep for burning their clients.
Have you ever used HPS?
I used to use a 600 for each plant (about 3'-3.5') n got 12-18 oz.

Extended spectrum the amare offers. Although it doesn't seem to actually be that bright for the price. Yeah I've used hps and I'm glad it's in the past lol

I guess that's up to the your needs or wants.
The enhanced spectrum offers a fuller 95 CRI spectrum then anything else available but w/o the efficiency losses that come w/ reg 90 CRI cobs or white leds. They actually run the Reds softer then the 470 blues (fills the gap in reg white) & 65k to maintain a 50% or 52% (forgot which one) efficiency.
So, if you believe a full, quality spectrum is better for your plants like I do then it's for you, if not then it's not. I killed it w/ 22 CRI HPS but I see happier plants under the 95 fuller spectrum.
Like I said too, you get to veg w/ a vegetive spectrum as well as turn off the monos to act as a dimmer function if need be.
I hate not using them on my 450 cuz the canopy appears so much brighter w/ them & the plants pray harder. They also add allot of color in many of my strains in comparison to just the cobs from what I've seen in my grows. Like adding a MH at the end of flower but not losing any red in the process so the second growth spurt & swelling continues.
These also come w/ built in reflectors w/ the option to use the lenses. If you have the height then the lenses are dope & maintain higher levels of light. You may have noticed from studying that w/o lenses the #'s drop fast as you go down further. They also deliver more light to the canopy n less on the walls.
So, a 7% loss from using lenses is gained back by about 30% more light on the plants & deeper into them.
But hey, go w/ what you feel most comfortable w/. I'm not here to sell you anything just answer whatever questions you may have cuz I own a bunch of them.
If cost is such an issue then maybe you might wanna try DIY.
Good manufactured LEDs cost allot of $$$. Although My first grow w/ the SE-450 paid for itself 3x over as well as allowed my to go from 600w of HPS to 450w while yielding more.

I massively appreciate all the info and I really do like the look of the amare. From what I've gathered it's seems to be a decision of whether the full spec of the amare would make up for the brighter light the timber would produce

NP, glad to help.
What makes you think the Cob light is brighter then the Hybrid?
If it were 80 CRI vs 90 CRI in cobs then yes the 80 would be brighter. That's not the case here.

I just got the impression a 400w vero timber would be brighter? I really like the idea of the full spec. Would the se450 be adequate to fill a 1x1m? And produce a large amount? I'm currently using a cheap viparspectra "900w". Also what kind of discounts would I be able to get on a 450. Thanks again!

As far as I know the 400 Vero using 4 cobs is slightly less brighter based on them being driven harder then 50%. Could be wrong though. Might be the same as far as the cobs go in regards to light output.
The 450 has 6 cob & mono arrays that I believe put out more total light then 4 100w cobs. As well as more quality light.
Maybe the 4 cobber is a bigger light dimensionally which could be beneficial to a scrogger in a bigger space then yours.
The 450 is almost overkill in a 3x3' but is perfect for a 3.5x3.5'. I can only imagine how bright it is in a reflective tent.
My first run w/ it was in a 4'x4' w/o reflective walls (just wh/ on 2 sides) w/ the other 2 open & I got 18oz. not including another couple oz of popcorn & that was off sort poorly vegged plants that had to get treated for mites 1/2 way through. You can see that grow here, I journaled it. Got 11 oz more bag meat then the 535w Hydroponics Hut that grow. Since, I use it in an overlapping fashion w/ my Pro-4's.
I know a guy that pretty consistently gets 24oz off 2-3 Autos in a 4'x4' w/ each 450.
As for discounts, you'd have to talk to Victor direct. He'd hook it up around 800ish I'd imagine.
