Is this casued by PH problems (leaves are dry and brown)

No stress mate, its been a learning experience for everyone involved lol. I'm very appreciative of your help and input even if it didn't fully fix the problem!

Thanks Jondamon for those EC figures! I'll use them after I've finished my 3 day flush.

So I've just changed the water with plain PHed water. EC reads 0.3 after letting it mix with what was left in my water chiller and lines. I'll leave this for 3 days then adjust EC to about 1.0 - 1.2, leave that for a week then swap for flower. I've also removed most of the fucked leaves. Hopefully this all helps lol

I'm also contemplating just ditching the brown additives (roots accelerator and amino treatment) as there is always a decent buildup of brown sludge which looks like dirt and water mixed in the res. I'm pretty sure its from those additives as when you open the bottles the liquids are very thick and black. Perhaps house and garden additives aren't the best for DWC.
I agree with everything you said, got my fingers crossed that by the next update the burning leaves are sorted! You deserve a decent harvest for the hard work!

Update:

So after 3 days of flushing the EC dropped down to 0.1. I also noticed that it drank a lot of water during the flush...

In this water change I've put in only Aquaflakes A + B, Cal Mag and Great white and Mammoth bennies. EC was at 1.0 when I added the water, its now at 0.9. PH seems to be more stable too, it doesn't rise as much in the beginning.

Today I defoliated the lower part of the plant in prep for swapping to flower next week.

Pics:

I removed most of the bad leaves but left a few on which looked like the still had a bit of green on them. Its a little too early to tell yet if the problem will continue but hopefully at the end of next week I'll know.

Super late update :)

So the grow ended pretty successfully, I think I got around 11oz from it so pretty happy. The bud was nice and frosty too, probably the most frosty I've done to date. I would put this extra frostyness down to increased oxygenation in the res along with the bios - great white and mammoth p (thanks @MrGreenFingers99)

Here are some pics from just before I cut it:
The problem was resolved when I dropped the EC to levels suggested by @jondamon so thanks a lot for that :D

But the saga continues!!

I've got another one growing - this times its Purple Haze from ilovegrowingmarijuana. I've changed my set up a bit, now growing in a small tent for the start of veg then I'll move to my bigger one. I'm just using 2 qb 288 boards in the little veg tent, then 4 when I get to flower. I think I'll add some far red too and try the far red at sunset technique to push flowering to 13 on /11 off.

Anyway back to the point. The new plant is suffering from the same problem, despite running at a lower EC. I havent been above 1 EC in this plant, starting with .4 then going to .6 to .9. The first week I just used House and Garden Aquaflakes A + B and bios and it was going great. Second week I tried adding the additives - specifically roots excelurator and amino treatment. The plant developed the same problems as my last one

Pics:
So i immediately changed the water and just used A + B... the problem stopped, and plant was growing nicely for a week.

Then for my 2nd last water change I decided to try additives 1 last time - problem immediately returned 1 day later.

Pics:
I've narrowed down the culprit to either Amino Treatment or Roots Excelurator.

So if anyone else is having the same problem - ditch the additives. Perhaps some plants just don't like them. It took my last plant longer to show negative effects from them but this plant seems to show them immediately.

Everything you need should be in A and B maybe some calmag but that's it.

Yeh, I think im gonna go that way... Just gonna use A + B, Cal - Mag, Greatwhite, Mammoth and maybe some Silica (Dutch Masters Gold I have left over).

I think ill just use up the rest of this H&G stuff and then give Current Culture a try. Have heard they make the best nutes for DWC.

with the plant you’ve posted I would be around 0.6-0.8EC.

wait for your res stats to change before feeding any higher or lower. Increase in EC then mix a weaker solution next change. Decrease in EC then mix a slightly stronger solution next time.

Personally I don’t use any additives really.

A+B with some calmag.
When in flower I use some PK booster but only slightly and I also use some Epsom salts during flower.

most plants won’t need additional calcium or magnesium other than what’s in the A+B until around week 4 or so of veg.

so for now just A+B will be fine.

Thanks again :D

I'll give just the A + B a shot. Last water change I had the EC at I think .6 which then dropped to .3 before I replaced the water with EC of .9 (including the additives). Atm I've got EC 0.8 (with cal-mag A+B and a bit of silica) after diluting it a bit. Hopefully it bounces back soon.
