Sometimes it's genetics too. Eitherway way, it'll still smoke, ultimately it comes down to personal preferences and bag appeal.

Yes it is starting to foxtail. I agree with @Hugo Phurst it is likely light related due to the leaf tacoing in the second pic. Many Sativa dominant strains will be prone to foxtails genetically, so that could play into it as well, but I would look at my lighting and possibly humidity.

What are the temps in the tent? Could be heat stress.

Too much heat or light also too much N can do it as well and yeah that looks like it's foxtailing anyway op as a General rule of thumb if it's stacked calyx type structure it will still have density Vs true foxtailing that's airy and undesirable the plant on the right looks that way to me

True but tends to be more dense if it's genetic Vs heat Ime as most folk mix up foxtails and a stacked calyx structure

so even though some / a lot of the buds are fairly airy they will still smoke just as good?

temps are around 23 - 25 degrees C .. have turned down the lights and raised them a little
