is this going to effect the yeild of the plant?

i went to check on my girls today to find that one of the branches has been snapped off by a deer or other small animal.
the bone of the branch was broke but still hanging on by the outer skin of the stock.
ive sliced it off and harvested the branch, even though its still a good 4 or 5 weeks early, maybe 6.
heres some pics. but my concern is.... is the gaping wound in the stock going to effect the rest of the flowering process.? and is there anything i can do to fix it or help it recover from this unfortunate accident.

Duct tape solves almost every problem. Ideally you could've taped the branch tightly back so the duct tape was holding the branch on whilst the plant repaired it.

You can't do that now, unfortunately.

Your biggest hurdle now will be keeping the wound sterile and free from rot. If rot takes hold it could ruin the whole plant, take a look at the pics in my grow journal towards the end to see what it could end up looking like.

I really hope it does stay sterile for your sake. Rotting stems is one of the worst problems a grower can have imo.

not sure where to find your grow journal. but rotting stems doesnt sound like a good thing to be had.
what about saran wrap, could i just wrap the area with that????

your plant will be fine. I have never had a rot problem after a branch broke off. I have had an entire branch break off from the weight of the flowwrs and still no rot. I would put a little wax over the wound if you are that worried. The pics look nice. I dont think you will have to wait more then 3 weeks for those buds to finish. Enjoy!

Welcome williamwild 13. Enjoy RIU. Its a great site! As for your question the buds grow all over the entire plant. Top to bottom. The buds at the bottom dont get as much light so they are allways smaller but just as potent! So yes some strains are all bud from the bottom of the branch all the way to the top. Center nodes included!

I've used tree pruning compound in the past and had good results... Mold or rot is a real concern especially if you are growing in more wet and or humid conditions.

i wrapped some saran wrap around it, just because it is wet and humid where they are....
but do you think that its going to effect the yield? has this stressed out my plant where it now has to use some of its budding power to mend its wound. this plant should have some monster budds when its ready , and id hate for some thing to get in the way of that?

so here's the branch i harvested.... i dried it in a box in my basement for three days, so its still a little sticky icky icky. i love weed with some dankness.
i burned a spliff before i put it in the jar this morning which proved to be a pretty rough burn in the throat...
but even after only a few hours in a jar, the smell and flavor changes drastically. i had already smoked different weed so i couldnt really say to much of the high.
but after dinner me and my girl burned a spliff that frazzled her brain. its alright i guess for being 4 weeks early.
its true what they say though about smoking your own weed. there really is no better feeling. and you can have it your way.
