Is this good, bad, or doesn't matter? Preflowers in veg

My plants are a first generation of clones that are from mothers that came from seed. The ladies from seeds didn't show preflowers until a week into 12/12. Now the clones are approx 2 months old. Been in veg under a 400 watt MH for about a month. A majority of them are showing very distinctive per flowers. They are all on 18/6. The OG kush, blueberry, and orange are all showing preflowers.

Is this good bad or doesn't matter? Thanks in advance.

It just means that they are mature and ready to go into flowering. You don't have to put them into flowering.

^^^agreed. Preflowers show when a plant reaches maturity. So your clones are the same age as the mother.

That makes sense. The mothers were significantly larger and about 1 month older when I started flowering them and they didn't have preflowers. Is this the reason you eventually have to pop new beans because the plants get too "old?"

No, some people just don't have the ability to clone out plants, or they just want to try out different pheno types. Every plant has it's own pheno type, it's nice to switch it up from time to time.

Yeah, that's why i have 5 strains going! Ha ha. I get tired of a strain after about an 1/8 of smoking it.

Does this mean my ladies should flower quicker once I switch to 12/12 or will it not matter?

They should stay ahead of schedule then. Meaning you can switch to 12/12 if they are the height you are after. If they already have the first part of the process done for flowering when you actually flower them, its one step less that they need to complete.

Your clones are as mature as the mother in my expirience my clones showed preflowers a week earlier than the mother in grow time I'm not sure if flowering will be shorter but that is a damn good question

I just thought it was me, but a clipping my buddy took, we put into some soil its been in my T5's for a few days, I thought it was dead so I set it outside of my tent. My gf told me there was fresh green in there and not to give up, I looked at it and there were white pre-flowers on this clipping that JUST took root. So little of root infact that I havent transplanted it from this cup 1/3 the size of a dixie cup. But its growing with pre-flowers, weak lil guys but yeah they are there. So technically this cutting will develop faster the whole rate?

I have two extremely weak OG Kush clones that I was pretty much ready to toss out, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Funny because they are starting to perk iup, but they're still only about 2 inches tall. They both have many pre-flowers!!! weird...

Was the plant flowering already that your buddy got the clone from?
