Is this growth Normal?

High guys.
Didn't know where I should post this, I didn't want to make a new thread, o well.
Is the stuff growing at the branches new branches or is it turning in to a male plant or what? It's my very first plant and I almost killed it at the beginning with nutes, so I did stress the seedling out. I am giving it 17 hours of light right now and thought it wouldn't show sex until 12/12? I don't really care one way or the other since this is just a learning thing for me. Thanks.
BTW This is a great community, I am learning a ton from here, want to say thanks to everyone.
P.S.
Before you give me crap I know it's stretched. It happened in one day while I was at work after I started Nutes again.

Why is it showing sex if it is getting 17 hours of light a day? Is it because I stressed it? I can still grow it and collect the pollen so I can make my own seeds if I get a female next time right?

best to just get rid of it, but there are some threads here about collecting pollen

not nowing your setup im guessing not enough light, the wrong light or you could be feeding them bloom nuts and not veg nuts.

I just started a little grow formula and not the bloom(pink) stuff from SH hydroponics, only a little in 4 gallons of water because I was scared to burn it with nutes. It grew like mad in a couple days and then those scrotums showed up
I know everyone looks down on CFLs here but that's all I can afford and I am just starting. I got two 85 watt bulbs from SH, one veg and flower one.

yeah, that's why I'm confused. I read these forums and other places a long time before I started. Thought I was on the right track, I mean I know it's not pro lights or anything but they are pretty damn bright and the lights timer functioned properly for over a month on time.

you can look at it this way, you did'nt waste much time on a boy.

looks male newfoundland brother, if u aint planning on starting any females for awhile then grow it out for the experience of it, if however you do have other seeds/access to clones then start all over again.
