Is this heat stress??? +rep for your help, thanks

Hi Guys

I have been having a prob with high heat in my room as we have had megga hot days with max temps hitting 35 degrees celcius, that is 95 degrees Fahrenheit!

So I am trying to cool it all down and I have had some success as I am now only hiting 32 degrees Fahrenheit, in other words 89.6 Fahrenheit.

I do have some major problems on alot of the leaves now in my flower room and I believe it is all heat stress. It looks a bit like nute burn and I have read this is a symptom.

Please look at the 2 pic's and tell me what you think. The pic's are of the same leaf, dif angles etc. :joint::joint::joint:

it looks like both man, im a newb im just guessing here so dont take my word for it but.. the yellowing is nute burn and the curling of ur leaf is heat stress:clap:

looks like heat stress to me, you could alos have some nute burn also but it would have showed up earier and on more then one leaf need more details and pics to help you better.

It also looks like your using Sears mega garden or emilys garden, it has a small res. which can make it a bitch?
Or let me know if i'm right ;)

Thanks dude, I think you could be right. Although I personally find that nute burn shows slightly differently, but with the extra heat it could look different I suppose. So you could be right.

Yes I have seen nute burn before and it was more on the edge of the leaf and all over. This is only on some of the leaves.

Why do you say under watering? I could see nute burn as a possibility though I have seen it and it was more on the edges of the leaves and started gradually, this was like boom, leafs look sheit, and it was straight after I had very hot days.

heat stress all the way, keep lights 18" from tops, pot can easily take 90* but water and wind must be presant, make sure they need no water, and add a osilating fan to blow the tops of the plants, even add a fan to blow on the light its self if its not vented, get a portable ac unit from the pawnshop that goes in the window, running ac adds humidity so keep a eye on your RH

It is a commercial type 400W HPS, What I mean is that it is basicly a factory light that has been modified for indoor growing. I run a standard commercial type hps bulb. The ballast is very reliable and hangs away from my plants. The light itself is actually quite far from the top of the plants, due to a few talish b-52 and ICE plants. I have skunk directly under the light but it is a good 500mm from the top of the skunk.

The thing is my room is like a back room at the back of a garage. It has a roof on it that heats up, so it can get hot in there as it is, now you ad a nice hot summers day and a 400W HPS and it gets very hot. :-) I have a veg section on the other side, but as it is close to the door and as I run 4 X 85w CFL's, it stays cool enough.

:-) Man dude, I wish I could say I know what you are talking about. I thinks Sears is a US store? right? Can you tell I am not from the states. :-) lol I dig the comments though. Ok I had to google Sears meggagarden. :-) Thanks google. :-)

No I grow organicly. I use to use coco peat, but I am strugling for supplies, so I make my own mix, from very good poting soil from a local garden centre, mixed with plenty pearl light and some peat. They are hand watered and I have ditched expensive imported dutch nutes for some balanced vegetable growing nutes that has all the goodness the plant needs. :-)

Impossible on the temp. Unless I install a airconditioner, and the cost would not justify it. But yes I take your point. It's to hot. The light is about 2 feet above it, so I think we are ok there. Thanks for the comments.

Dude thanks so much.

A week or so ago I added a ossilating fan and I do have another one just on the light. I have the light as high as possible and there is also a big extractor fan going. The a/c would be the best option I agree. I must add though that electricity prices is extortionist were I am so it just is not a option. I am just under 90 now as a max temp, so I am very glad you say it can take up to 90. They just need to hang in there. :-)
