I do not know if it's genetic or if it's stress induces... I haven't tried over stressing my plant to self-polinate.. The first two image are clearly in a close polinating state. The last to image can be control and manageble to reduce seed formatiin by picking any '' male flower & banana looking flower pods)... When it doubt.... Throw it out... But i would investigate if its stress or if its genetics..

Genetically every plant is hardwired to herm from stress and there are no hermie free genetics. Just tossing plants because of a few nannas is the quickest way to kill your whole grow :-)

I know certain strain are more prone to it... The most seed i' ever got from a plant was 1 per pound. But of course you are right. It also depends on the timing the appears.
