is this illegal to do online?

if you buy weed off a random person and nothing happens, is it a guarantee they aren't a cop? for instance, in my state weed is highly decriminalized, just a minor ticket for up to a large amount. anyways, on websites like myyearbook, you can see profiles of local people in your area, its like a facebook but everyone is visible, the purpose is to meet new people. if someone offers to get you weed, and you buy it and everything is fine, is it a guarantee they aren't a cop?

i mean, the possession charge is so minimal anyways it would be such a waste of time, unless there's other charges, like using internet to buy drugs or whatever, i don't know. if anything, the real danger is with them. they are selling it and i could be the cop, and the selling charge could throw them in jail for a little bit. so my question is, if you meet a random, purchase a bag, a day or two later nothing happens, is it a guarantee they aren't a cop? i see no benefit in them building a case against someone. "Your honor, he bought 15 bags off the cop..." lol big deal

police in general cannot provide inducements to commit a crime, such as selling you drugs, at least that's the law
of course, as many of us know here, LEO doesn't always obey the law, but they have to be clever about it
typically, they have informants working for them and doing deals, you're more likely to buy weed of an informant than a cop because not being police gives them some advantages
they're not usually interested in busting you for small bags they sell you, they want to work the chain of supply and get bigger fish

thanks bro, i was waiting for an intelligent response. i'm not even going to comment on the previous two posts, but people like that completely ruin a forum community and probably should be banned. everyone always told me grasscity was better, now i see why.

i can't see any advantage to arresting the buyer when the maximum fine for 100g is 150$. i was just wondering if maybe using the internet was a new crime as well, i dont know. i dont care about entrapment or any of that old myth bs, i just was wondering if once the deal was done, it's gotta be 100% safe i imagine. if they were to arrest you, it would be at the point of sale, while in possession for certain. i think i wont worry. thanks guy

it's been around for a while, i have seen peeps posting about it and doing it
i suppose it's possible for LEO to operate a mail order site, i wouldn't put anything past them, but small orders aren't their style, just too little payoff IMHO

i dont know if your term mail order actually refers to the mail or just how you describe getting weed this way. it wasnt like that. what i mean is, that website has a news feed which shows local people, so they are within 20 miles. the weed is bought in person. you meet the person online thru a profile, they ask if you want to buy weed, and you drive to them and buy it. that is the scenario i am trying to convey.

what you're describing sounds pretty dangerous, at least for a seller, some undercover is going to show up at some point
even for small sales, sales are going to be at least misdemeanour's, and could easily crank it up to felonies with a few circumstances
a buyer probably would have less risk, but the chnaces you're buying from an informer would seem high
you'd be on the radar if nothing else

right, the seller is basically taking all the risk. i go and pick up an onion, the worst that will happen to me is a $150 fine, no arrest or anything, minor misdemeanor. the seller gets an arrest and a felony, 1 year and a few thousand dollar fine. so as the buyer, what's the risk? as for being on the radar, well i advertise my pot use an all forms of social media, facebook, myyearbook, etc. so ive never cared lol. if this lady who sold me was an informant, i still see no risk. i dont have anything at my house of interest other than the ounce, which again, is $150 fine and walk away.

i just want to keep buying bud with her thats why im asking. she offered to smoke me up on the website, thru a message. i said "sure, is there more to get?" and she hooked it up with the sack. she should have been scared shitless i could have been the police, but she seemed pretty cool with everything.

chances are, you're probably pretty safe if you're just buying, depends partly on how you hooked up with her to begin with
if the seller is in effect openly advertising on the internet, that's likely to end badly for them
but if they're discrete and smooth, they can do business for quite a while
the danger is if the hammer drops, things could be made up if that's what it takes to get out of a bad situation
but that's true for buying weed in general, you can't avoid all risk

They aren't so very much interested in the buyers as much as they are the sellers...they are more likely to buy pot from someone to bust them...because you might tell them where they get your supply, so on and so forth.
