Hi all,

I recently purchased the light listed in the link above with its reflector that comes with it.

It is placed in a 5 ft tall, 1 1/2 foot deep, and 4 foot wide cabinet. Is this sufficient lighting to vegg 10 or so plants quickly enough to get them to be about 18 inches tall in about 4-6 weeks from seed?

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

10-16 plants actually. does anyone have any input on whether or not this light will work for that type of growth production. I need them to be about 18" atleast in 4-6 weeks total time from seed.

Any idea if this will work?

optimal, no, workable, yes.

if ur only going for 18 inches, i can see it working, but not as well as a nice MH.

Did you get the correct spectrum bulb or did you get the red spectrum? Also hope you didnt pay anywhere near $200 for the setup. Should be able to find if you look for bulb and reflector for under $100

well for $200 I will sell you a brand new 600 watt digital ballast that runs mh and hps and thats delivered with a 3 year warranty. $165 delivered for a 400 watt digital dual ballast but those large 200 watt actual wattage cfls are not to hard to find from envirolight or vitalumnes

Mine are bought direct from the manufacture before they get branded. Same components as the Lumeteks without the name or the purple housing come in silver and black or whatever color I ask to be housed in. I have been using them for about 4 years now without ever an issue which is why no issue with 3 year warranty. I have 1000 watters for $285 delivered also and 90 watt led lights for $280 delivered and tents vary on size...pm if you need something in particular

I got it for pretty cheap from a local hydro store. I asked the owner if it would be enough wattage to successfully vegg in the cabinet I have which is 5ft tall, 1 1/2 foot deep, and 4 foot wide, and he said it would. I have the 200 watt bulb. I only got this instead of a MH because i was scared of the heat build up in the cab.

I think that I am going to vegg under this for 2 weeks and then vegg for an additional 2-4 weeks under my 2x1000 watts in my flower room before switching them to flower. How does that sound?

hey guys just wondering i have a small plant..it stem is very weak i try to hold it up with a straw.. i have 3 fluorescent lights bulbs ober the plant ..a total of 2400 lumens or so. is this good

$200 for what? The link is a little confusing, is it the fixture with a 125w CF lamp? 6500K lamp? with only 10,000 hours life? Or is it the 200 watt version? While the spectrum is great, anything over 5000K is good for veg, there are a number of less expensive alternatives that might work just as good or better. It is strange that they do not list the LUMENS of the lamp on the site, but assuming 65 lumens per watt, this equates to 7,200 to 13,000 lumens. You could have purchased a 4 lamp, 4' T5 fixture for the same or less money and had 20,000 lumens, and the ability to change lamps from veg to bloom as your cycle moved along. Plus the T5 fixture has a much longer life, and the lamps are replaceable. So while not a bad choice, IMHO I think there are better alternatives. Good luck!

I didnt buy it from that site, i got it from a local hydroshop and didnt have to pay nearly that much, but i got the 200 watt bulb with it, with the reflector.

I know a 4' t5 fixture would of been better, they had those also, but it would not fit the dimensions of my cab. Also I am only using this light to vegg my plants. I hope to get 10-16 plants 18"-28" tall in about 4-6 weeks from seed. Do you think this is possible with this light?

I then will be switching the plants into my 8ftx8ftx8ft flowering room which will have 2x1000 watt hps.

I will be using 5 gallon buckets and Fox farm ocean forest soil, with the fox farm nutrients schedule. Any guesses on yield?

I am growing a variety of G13 NLxSkunk fem, Greenhouse seeds Himalayan Gold fem, and Barney's Farm Blue Cheese Fem.
