Is this magnesium deficiency ??

It has been my experience that a thriving organic grow is dependent on how much a diversified amount of organic matter is in your mix. A organic mix that is thriving with microbes is always more acidic as the organic matter is breaking down. Dolomite lime in extremely small amounts helps balance the act of a already slightly acidic soil. Dolomite unlike the other types of lime will only raise or lower the ph to 7 as it is considered neutral. Magnesium seems to be one of the slowest moving micro nutrients. Many times I encounter mag def when my temps get low enough that the plant will no longer absorb it. Personally I would say a couple weeks into a magnesium issue either through low temps or your mix has become slightly too acidic as the organic matter breaks down. A worm tea will help but keep track of everything you put in your mix for future cycles. Dolomite or diatomaceous earth are a organic growers staple ingredient
I would help if I kept a journal but after decades of the war on pot growers it's just so ingrained in me to not write things down and I barely ever take pictures. Just today I'm smoking some real nice Northern Lights that has me in a happy go lucky mood so I took a few pics but it's pretty rare.

Awesome while you’re helping me same plant purple stems, I topped and LSTed so It could be from the stress or just genetics but idk doesn’t seem healthy any knowledge on purple stems ?
Stress and deficiencies are 2 common causes though I'm sure not the only things. My plants get them sometimes but usually I can direct it back to one of those things. It could be the mag def, or stress from cold roots and ph balance in coco will cause that too from what I've read.

I hear that it’s certainly been a wild ride. Amazing how far things have come. Northern lights… man that’s the ultimate creeper of a strain. Certain jars the labels haven’t ever changed. For me it’s black domina. Such a complex flavor an stone. It’s nice to see nowadays terpenes taking a front seat in breeding

What was the source of your Black Dom? I know AKBB has a bx & I know that others have had it as well but its always limited and I always come late to the party. The current NL is AKBB NL5xNL1xNL1 Good buzz not much of a creeper but just a high & pleasant state of mind.

I'm in michigan where we can have 12 rec plants per household. Though I don't think there should be a legal limit to how many plants you can have I can grow more weed than I and all my circle can smoke with 12 plants. Back in the day I'd a slapped ya and called you a filthy liar if you said one day I'd dump weed into the compost pile. But here I am in 2022 with mostly full jars and end up composting bud every harvest when I need empty jars. Wild Ride indeed!

Okay thanks ! Figured mixture of the stress from topping/mag def Was most likely the reason

Thank you for an intelligent reply with information. Could you elaborate on why coco is not good for the bacteria in organics and don’t the beneficial microbes break down nutrients and make them available to plant at wider ranges ?
It's just not the ideal medium they thrive in, they evolved to survive in soil for millions of years. I dont exactly know why but im sure everything from texture, water holding capacity, density etc all play a role as well as the lower pH you have to run in it.

And im not sure that microbes make nutrients available in wider pH ranges. Id say its more that they make nutrients more available in general so if you are at a pH value where say calcium is absorbed at only 20% efficiency vs its ideal pH where its 80% efficient then the microbes being present will obivously help simply becuase there will be more available in both cases but not that it actually makes it 80% efficient for the non-optimal pH level... if that makes sense.

And by your pictures I would not adjust anything at all. It looks so minimal that it was prob just a small stress from a pH swing from something. Adjusting and overcompensating can just make things more of a mess going back and fourth and youll never figure out the problem. Watch it and if it gets more pronounced into something you can actually identify then treat for that. But to me theres no conformation of anything specific.

Organic coco /living soil is working pretty good for me. I'm using RoDi/ 0ppm water.
Don't listen to the nay sayers, they're just not at that level yet.

I've even grown in pure alpaca shit. You know anybody who's grown in a bucket of pure manure? I bet some of these jokers on here will say it's impossible, or something slick. Remember bro bro, A hater will always hate.

Nice looking plant ! what strain you got going there ?

Looks really good ! I just started some banana buttercups x wedding cake from sq1 genetics can’t wait. What seed bank you use ?
I breed my own mainly. I have a buddy that I trade beans with. Helps to keep a variety.

That's strain sounds tasty.

Looking healthy. What are your medium ratios for coco to your compost and/or whatever else you are running in your mix? And do you feed just water or nutes aswell?

Compost is always homemade. I use about 15% compost 10% humus 5%EWC

Check out my thread in the organic section.
