I had one bag seed from some really nice purple bud I got once. It never really looked like it had the greatest genetics but I figured, hey let's just grow it out and see what happens. I just notice the top of the soil looks fuzzy, like dust balls..... first thing that came to my mind is, could it possibly be mold? It is in the same room, same conditions, same RH/temp, same nutes, same feeding schedule as the other girls (NOT bag seed) and they are healthy and prosperous. Soil is Sunshine4 is that matters.

Well I scraped the top layer of soil off...surprisingly this girl doesn't have a huge root ball, at least it doesn't seem like it. Well she isn't so big either so nothing unexpected. Topped it with a little new soil and very lightly watered it (just to get the new soil to "settle"). Now to keep an eye on it! If anyone can confirm it was mold, or give any suggestions from their experiences that'd be great! :eyesmoke:

technically yes i believe that is mold but im not sure if its considered the same as powdery mildew. ive seen many people including myself get that around the base of the stalk on little guys just coming out of the cloner and on top of the cubes. never proves itself to be a problem for me
