is this normal for clones?

So today I took 2 clones off a plant that Im almost 100% sure is female due to it showing female preflowers.

SO, what I did was clipped off what I wanted for a clone, dipped in root hormones, then cut a lil bit off at 45 degree angle. Then placed cutting in wet soil. Then placed in shaded area.

A few minutes later the clippings were wilted and leaning over

is that normal? or did I do something wrong?

I'd would use rock wool myself but if you don't have any I'd say stick your clones in a cup of water for a couple days until you see roots than plant in soil.
Get a Humidity dome too.

what.i didn't know that you could clone a clone.i though only a mother plant.so i can clip off a good cutting off of my clone?

so are you saying I failed at cloning? or can i still save the babies?

im not cloning a clone. I have a plant that I hope is female (sure as hell looks like it) and took clippings from its lower branches.

You don't think a clone can be a mother plant? Or any female in that matter can be a mother plant? Or you even technically need a mother plant to clone?

No they'll be good just do what the guide says, Humidity is very important, and your plant wants to live you just got to give it the tools

i dont know all i know is the i would love to have two romulan growing than just one.
