Is this normal for cloning?

Maybe too much light and/or heat, not enough fresh air. I have had them contort in the dome before when it is too hot but they come around. If it is rooted too much water and the above. Could just be a bad clone as some have between 50-90% success rates. Some are gonna fail.
Is why I like to do in 4's so one fails I have 3 left to chose from for a mama and first runners.

I have never had one root for me in soil. I use rapid rooters or those jiffy peat starter things. Sorry I couldn't be of help, good luck. Sure someone else will jump in at some point.

I don"t usually dome, but I do if a clone wilts. Looks like small enough to just put a clear plastic cup over it. Punch hole in bottom. and water it by spritzing cup keeping it wet.
That said I have had wilters come back without the above. How many days since planting?

Its pretty common for a cut.to wilt in the first few days. For me they usually perk back up. I've personally noticed that my cuts from the tops of.plants tend.to wilt more often than my bottom plant cuts.

Taking cuttings from the bottom half of the plant is better as it has more root hormones at the base of the plant. How did you take the clone with knife scissors razor, if it was a rough cut it can shock the plant and it will wilt like that it may survive it may not get a dome over it and keep it moist always and if you've gotten an embolism (air bubble) up the stalk it will die did you use a rooting hormone when you took the cut this will stop air getting up the stem.

If you don't have some sort of bubble cloner, I prefer a peat based medium to get them started over soil as drainage seems better/ more consistant. I tried soil once in half a batch. I have not had a failure in my in my last 60 clone attempts in peat pushing me well over 90% success total. It's become worry free. Cloning a dozen again today or tomorrow.
