is this normal?

im new to growing and have a question. the branches of my plant are getting darker in color. is this bad or a sign of maturity or what? any info will help thanks riu

yeah you need some nutes. that looks like an obvious nute deficiency(i believe phosphorus but im an idiot about that type of stuff). do you know of any hydroponics stores around you? if not you can order them online

as for which brand to go with, its really just a matter of opinion

although you really cant go wrong with advanced nutrients, fox farms, or general hydroponics

You will have a way better chance of getting good feedback for a question like this.

Also, the more information the better. What lights are you using? What nutrients are you feeding the plant? How old is it? Without specific information you have little hope of getting specific answers. "Darker is color" is totally vague. How dark? See my point?

man i've gotten purple stems before but not that purple could be a nute defeciency or it could be just a recessive trait showing through

even if it is a recessive trait you will need nutes to grow. if its a deficiency then they should solve the problem anyway

yes they are def. dark purple. im more worried bout nutes because i've never used them before aand have no clue wat ones 2 get.

31 days old from seed as of today
8 inches tall
neutral soil with no nutes
2 23w cfl's
3 fluoros

i knew the plant would need nutes eventually. and by looks, my plant is asking me for them. i figured i would wait until my plant showed signs of wanting them. now that it is i will get them thx u guys are great

purple stems is one of the first signs of nitrogen deficiency>>>>feed those babies!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have any molasses in the kitchen??????? If so mix 2 tablespoons in 1 gallon water , use this until you get some nutrients.......actually keep using along with your nutes , I'ts a great micro nutrient ........hope this helps.....

What is the ph of your soil?

For nutes I would suggest Foxfarm's Grow Big for vegging and Foxfarm Big Bloom for flowering.

Start with 1/4 concentration as directed. Make sense?

he has been growing until now without them. I was just telling him that even if I was wrong about his problem he would need them anyway. I wasnt trying to point out the obvious just saying that he could kill two birds with one stone.
