Is this normal?

I got a few seeds from some fire Sour Diesel I got so I figured why not. I've grown in the past and only remember there being 2 leaves not 3 like this one. I did some research about hermy seeds and it seems like they can still be viable. Is this a sign of a mutation or something? Is it worth trying to grow this out.

It has been seen before lots. Probably 1 per thousand would be my guess. Remember it could have been stray foreign pollen and not nessesarily herm pollen. Although Ecsd is known to herm. It’s worth a shot I think but most of the time they will start growing normally after a while. If it is a female and grows like sour d you can assume it was herm pollen.

Thanks Bobby! It's just Sour Diesel not east coast so hopefully that is good. I didn't even think of that I just assumed it was herm pollen. Fingers crossed.

No problem. Ecsd and sour d are the same thing. The real question would be if it “actually” is sour d. You can figure out how sour d grows and it’s history buy searching old threads at ic mag.

Really they are listed as 2 different strains on the websites i frequent. With Sour Diesel being a 90% - 10% sativa dominant and EC being a 70% -30%. I know a lot of people think the indica/sativa % is BS. I have actually gotten both of them and to me they are definitely different. Similar but different smells and effects. I've also had other diesel hybrids. Triple Diesel, Ultra sour, Diesel Fire, Super Sour Diesel. I always thought ECSD was just another cross using the infamous Sour Diesel.

Thanks for the article. I just read it and it's very interesting. I'm no expert so I definitely could be wrong. Anyone else have any input on this subject?
