Is this ok to use? Did I create toxins??

I baked my soiless mix in about 185 degrees for an hour and a half, even though they recommended half an hour. I did this because the 3 and a half inches of substrate I was baking seemed to be cool to the touch after 30 minutes in the oven and I was scared that it wouldnt be sterilized from those darn pesky root eaters. Could I have created any toxins which could be bad for plants and in the long run me? I am kinda sketch and pissed about me leaving it in there for so long and need someone to check up on me.

Thanks..:joint:

I thought you were supposed to bake at 200 not 185? Anyways, if you are baking soil you will not create toxins. You will kill Pathogins and bacteria. If you are unsure then bake it again.

They said you can create toxins, everywhere on the internet, and that you arent supposed to bake over 200.. I need more people to chime in on this. But think about for how long I baked. They recommend 30 minutes and I did an hour and a half.

I'd help you out if I knew the answer but I just buy fresh soil. Sunshine Promix 4 at a Walmart near me sells it for $24 a 60 cu ft compressed bail. Just not worth me baking dirt for that price.

Why not just go and dig up some new dirt and start over? If you are concerned then don't use it.
