Is this plant root bound?

I'm not sure what to thing the issue is with this plant the leaves are kinda droopy and the bottom leaves are yellow. I just fed them some nutes to see if that will help but the rest of them look healthy...

How can I tell if this plant is root bound? The pots have a few holes on the bottom and I think I can see roots through them but they aren't sticking out of the holes or anything.

Any help is appreciated!!

Your plant is not root bound.

The plants are under 18/6 schedule, 600W MH about 18" or so. Temps between 78-85 with the lights on 70-75 with them off. Using RO water with CL seed starting soil..

If any other info is needed please ask.

defo not root bound, your plant would have to be at least the same size as the pot for that to happen

my plants look very simular, and i had two issues (only my 2nd grow, so please get a second opinion).

1. was over watering
2. was heat stress

looks like over watering or nute burn or a bit of both.


what are you using?

soil type?

nutrients? what strength?

Nutes are Fox Farms big bloom, which is supposed to be organic and safe when they are this small, plus I only gave half dose at about 2.5 weeks.

Soil is neutral seed starting soil with per lite, peat moss, and compost.

Over watering is a possibility and my biggest worry, I've been watering them every other day but spraying them daily because I have really low humidity..

It's not burnt, but it is juiced up on a bit of Nitrogen. Not a tipping point however. Yes, the droop is over watering and the yellow on the bottom is where it would show sign first anyways. Just back off a hair on it. Give it some space.... ur doing fine.

I will hold off on watering for a few days and then hit them with straight water.

Here's a pic of all 9, I'm pretty proud since it is my first grow but I know I have a long way to go

More times than not....most ppl kill their plants with kindness as opposed to being careless or inattentive.

Yeah I can see myself going down that road, if I'm home it feels like I'm checking on them every 15 minutes. Need to stop that.

No worries.... it wears off ... after 12 years or so.

I'm pretty sure root-bound is a myth.. My buddy grew a 5ft widow plant in a 1.5gl pot it's whole life.. Made huge buds, worked perfect..

Pot bound/root bound is absolutely not a myth. It may be a myth how much it can affect a plant tho. Pot bound just means the roots have hit the sides of the pot. This looks like pot bound plant, however its WAY to small for that size of pot to be pot bound (I got one in a pot like that to a foot without it being pot bound).

There is a thing such as root bound, but the term really only applies to plants which are needed to grow to their true potential. As with a tree farm. I go in to purchase a Cypress tree perhaps, and that sucker has been sitting in the same pot for three years. Now I am paying for a tree which SHOULD have the potential to grow 80 feet tall. This will NEVER occur with a root bound tree. So I am getting ripped off. Worse yet is when I resell that tree to a customer, and a year later I get a WTF call..... By the way, if you do ever buy a tree and it isn't in a pot that is too heavy.... pick it up off the ground a few feet and drop it. If that pot BOUNCES at all, don't buy it. If the owner gets irate...leave.

Weed is an annual, and "root bound" simply doesn't apply. It's not a tree. But yes, the terminology and misconception has been adopted by many....erroneously.

Hey everybody, left them alone for a few days and now they look like this

I'm not sure what to do, do they still look overwatered?

Please help I feel like I'm losing my newborn

Once again, soil is neutral seed starting soil with compost, perlite and peat moss.

I fed them full strength organic fertilizers about 3 days ago.

They are about 18" under a 600W. The temps are below 85 with the lights on. Humidity is very low (I'm working on that.)

I don't know whether to water them now or not....

Is the soil very dry now? Overwatering is a real killer. More so than underwatering.

The soil does seem really dry now pretty deep down in the pot..

Should I leave them another day or so or water them again?
