Is this possible?

Hi, my first post so go easy on me :D

I got my Vegative grow box set up (i think) but it would be too small for Flowering but i got other space for that.

I got no money hardly so would it be possible to grow in a 36", 17", 15" (thats length, height, width) If i sealed any small cracks, used the dull side of tinfoil as reflective material untill i get some other stuff and used a 2 foot fluro tube out of a fishtank? Got a fan in there and 2 50mm holes for ventilation, one on the back top left corner and one on the right in the top right corner.

Got my grow medium and getting some shiva shanti 2 seeds in a few weeks from a mate.

I have never grown before and i cant afford a carbon filter or any hardcore lighting.

Any help or or advice would be appriciated.

Cheers, Joemuz

Don't use foil! You're better off painting the inside surfaces flat white or getting some mylar. CFLs are great, you'll need quite a few though unless you plan on getting the high-watters. As far as tubes go... not so good and I can speak from experience on this, don't use them unless you want slow growing plants... yeah. There's plenty of info here CFL Growing check it out, copy an effective setup and go from there. Oh and you'll want intake and exhaust fans, a lot of people like hooking up computer fans to 12v DC tansformers, but you'll find your way. Good luck.

Hi yes flat/matt white paint is alot easier, and as long as you get the cfl's close enough they do an alright job, also you want to get a light timer or 2 i got a couple cheap for £5.00 from wicks, also as far as the fans go u can get away with an oscilating fan alone, but would be better with a couple of pc fans, my room just has an oscilating fan in it and a vent hole but its a lot bigger so prob do need the pc fans to keep your temps down
good luck

So can i put the seedling straight into the growbox or shall i do that somewhere else?

And will the plants grow faster and not as tall with matt white paint and the cfl's ?

thanks for the help guys :)

CFLs are the shit man, they work AWESOMEly. Now, if space is your issue and you NEED to keep the height down, check out my journal inthe sig. I dont have instructions on how to do wat i did, but i got pics of plants from youngling to 3 weeks into flowering. They should be about 2 feet tall by now, but ive kept them under a foot n a half, and everything is goin beautiful. basically what i did was just top the plants twice, and i kept on tying down every single branch that has potential budsites, until they conformed to what i needed them do do. N every week i just tied each plant down more n more, n now i have a fully maturing plant thats in flower, and with all the string ive used to tie everything down, ive kept it low n bushy, and havent effected the yeild at all. If anything IMHO i think i might have helped my yeild along in the long run - well see about that though.

Just remember that if you have dimensions within reason, that nothing is impossible. It may be difficult, but not impossible. Good luck bro!!

Not faster, but seeing as your new to growing and on a tight budget, this is the way to go
