But if you look at these pics the trichs are so amber it’s glowing orange. I don’t mind waiting at all, but I also don’t want to go to far past. This is kind of defying what your supposed to look for to harvest

Less than perfect grows throw forth a host of off stuff so thats quite often the problem.

New growers need to avoid loupes and trichs, its done when the bud looks done or as close to as your experience level allows.

Looks like its got a while to go yet but hard to tell exactly as pics arent really showing an awfull lot.

:-)

Those do not look done to me. I would hazard a guess something else is causing the pistils to dry up or cook. Did you spray with anything? How are your temps?

I had to use insecticidal soap and Monterey BT and noticed some browning of the pistils within a day after application. I also had some high temps which didn’t help despite applying them early mornings (not at the same time, different weeks actually). I was a bit disappointed. I was surprised when my buds grew new white pistils within a week.

They don’t look done but if you zoom up on the pictures there’s quite abit of amber trichomes.

Temps have been moderate 68-75 during the day 47-58 at night. Iam in Massachusetts so New England weather is crazy. I wasn’t worried about the pistols, it was the over abundance of amber trichs. Unless my eyes are bad, it’s looking like 40% amber

I have one that had some of that effect after spraying as well, doesn’t help we are surrounded by dirt and the stickier those flowers get, the more dirt sticks. For me, it was a no brainer, because that plant has been weeks behind the others so I know it’s a fluke that they look amber. Mine almost looked burnt though.

You cant pick weed before it looks done trichs or not. Thats a tricky situation and feel your seeing more damaged trichs on the outer surfaces maybe but idk for sure.

See how it goes but id leave and observe :-)
Ya I’m going to wait it out. See what they look like in a week and go from there

I was looking to see if it was new growth from foxtailing but not really looking that way. Maybe it stunted or the outdoors isnt the best place for delicate trichs. Still best to wait it out and ive always used the looks done approach as a hard and fast rule :-)

Sometimes the hormones with some nutes trick the plant to throw new flowers on top of old ones in later flower. I always let trichs get 75 Amber 25 cloudy an extra 3 or 4 days can help alot imo your hairs aren't curling up yet and the buds not swelling if that was my plant it would have another 5 to 7 days at least. I average 1 to 2 lb per plant in 3 months.

Ya I know I should hold off but most of the fans on that plant are drying up and turning brown and crispy the other 4 plants are even further away that this one , with continued new white pistol growth, but this weeks forecast is making me nervous, 3 days straight of rain with low temps. I’ll have to make a decision, I know I could cover them but it won’t stop the humidity.A80AF80F-49D9-44B6-AFBB-227952E9B700.png
