the very bottom looks like it is rotting just above that it looks like it is white and starting to bulge, that is where you will get roots if the rot on the bottom doesn't kill it first.

throw it away even if it gets roots its gonna grow sooo slow

Agree with ringlead3r, throw it, next time just leave them in the plugs nice and snugg
