if u keep ur lights close to ur plant they wont grow tall?
i have 400watt hps and i have 3 girls under it? and my lamp is always in the smae place
should i move it up everyweek

you want to experiment with your light. Move the light as close as possible without burning the tips of the leaves. then move it up slightly every week until you dont want the plant to get any higher

I heard anything that is too warm for your hand is too warm for the plants. I always keep my lights 2 ft from the canopy as standard.

Keeping the light as close as possible helps to minimize stretching which gives the impression you are forcing the plant to grow shorter. It does not actually alter the plant's specific growth rate for the conditions it is being grown under.

Find out what the closest point to the tallest plant is that you can put the light without causing heat burn. Keep it at that distance from the tallest plant throughout. For example, if the plant grows 1 inch, move your light up 1 inch.

what wattage of light are you using? i have a 400 and i keep it about 7inches away from the tops of my plants, a maximum of 1ft.
