It's not likely that it's cannabis but I have heard of strains from Australia that do indeed grow like that they're called Australian Bastard plants

There's some strange strains, if you actually picked them out of a bud of decent weed then I'd say give them a try. Check out Ducksfoot and Spyderweb for examples of what I mean, there are people specifically breeding for strains that DON'T look like cannabis for stealth grows and Spyderweb doesn't look like weed even budding, pretty cool
