is yellow leaves normal

hi guys got some trainwreck from greenhouse they have been flowering for 3 weeks and now the plants have about 30% of the leaves yellowing can anyone help dont want fucked up bud

If they are yellowing from the bottom up give them a 1/2 dose of veg nutes. It's hard to tell w/ out pics..

if the yellowing started at the top, it could be a nitrogen deficiency.

sorry guys couldnt get a picture up today had a look at the plants and some leaves are bright yellow but are still strong dont know if this helps

Chad851.... Yellow leaves can mean a lack of Nitrogen and/or Sulphur. Check soil pH first, before assuming this. If the soil pH, is below 6 or above 7.2, nutes are being locked out. Always correct soil pH issues first.

Overwatering can also cause Yellowing of leaves. Soil should go through moist and dry spells. Not constantly moist, or even worst, wet all the time.

If soil pH is fine and your soil is not over moist, then feed them some of your grow fert, with a teaspoon of Epsom Salt mixed into a gallon of water. The Epsom Salt will provide both mag & sulphur, in a mellow way.

hi guys i checked my ph and its 8 i have to expensive ph meters but when i put it into a bottle of mineral water i dont get the same result as it says on the bottle also i have ph down but dont know how to use it

well i would get fresh water, add ph down to take it to 5 or so on the scale then add it to your very alkaline water. the 2 will mix and youll end up around 6.5 then do it again tomorrow. and the day after that and the day after that until the pH is back to the nice 5.8-6 range. i think changing it too quickly could hurt the plant. but leaving it at 8 is certain death. and we need pics of those plants. if they are flowing then some yellowing is normal

thanks dude but 90% of leaves are yellow and its only 6 weeks into flowering i am worried

attitude lists flowering period for GH's trainwreck as c9 weeks, so you should be about 1 week away from flush...
how are your trichs and calyxes looking?
and, toward ohsogreen's suggestion, how often have you been watering?

watering every 4 days buds look nice need to check with the microscope for trichs and calyxes

you might also want to think about your micro beasties. I have had (possibly) the same problem and adding more grow nutes didnt help so the guy at the local grow store suggested that i didnt have enough micro beasties.

nice one bro also bought a £200 ph tester and one plant is 8 and the other is 7, do i flush then add ph down to the water or any other ideas sorry bro first grow

whoah, 8's too high... in soil you want yer runoff pH between 6.5-6.8...

if you search RIU you'll find plenty of info on pH, but here's an excerpt from some of the wisdom you'll find here (and apologies that I don't have the original source info):

"How to test the pH of your soil mix

Measuring the pH of soil is just as important as with hydro applications, but few people know how to test soil pH to see if it is within the optimum range for growing robust healthy plants. Here I will try to explain my method of testing any soil / soilless mix, enabling me to spot any problems and correct them if necessary.

Firstly, wait till your soil has dried out and is due for its next watering schedule. Then take some plain water that you usually water your garden with, and adjust the pH to 7.0. You must make sure that you know the exact pH of the water going into your soil, and the neutral 7.0 is best, but anywhere from 6.5 – 7.0 will suffice.

Then place your pot into a bowl of some sort to catch the runoff water, and then start to water your soil slowly (with your pH- corrected plain water) till the water starts to drip from the bottom.
It’s the first drops of water that will give you the best reading of your soil, so make sure to water slowly till you see the first droplets. Then remove the pot from the bowl to eliminate excess water entering the bowl. Then perform the pH test on the runoff and compare it too your initial test."

so first off make sure you're getting an accurate reading. then, if indeed yer pH is off you'd want to correct it slowly so as to not put the plant in shock... of course, this late in your grow i'm not sure how much of a difference it'll all make (though maybe someone else has some other ideas there?)

while yellowing during flowering is normal (and indeed desirable as the plant uses up N in stored in the leaves), if it's indeed excessive and premature then perhaps, give your apparently high pH, it is indeed lockout.

in any event, pics would still be nice to see...
