You want individual anecdotes? I grew up in Detroit under Colemen Young's leadership. I've worked in ATL, B'ham, Memphis and Augusta. It's rare, but it happens man. I don't let it bother me because again, it's rare. If I had to deal with it on a daily basis it would definitely affect the way I think, that's why I asked what's happened to you to think so lowly of white people.
The most recent was a patients husband calling up my hospital and requesting a black therapist because he didn't want a white man touching his wife. I didn't complain, I didn't sue, I didn't run here to start a thread, I just turned her over to my partner.
and to further on the reverse:
i had a wisdom tooth out 2 weeks ago..intense pain over the weekend call regular oral surgeon can't take me.
i have to be put to sleep. so i started calling the list and there was this guy a few miles away who had an opening.
got to the office and there was a black couple and an old white man. lady at registration window was black. signed in and started my paperwork.
next out from the surgeon was a black guy..never saw so many black people at dental. take back my paperwork and when she opened the window all the staff was kinda in one place and they were all black..and i looked back at the lady and she smiling
looked at the other women
and they were all smiling..nodding their head..yeah! you girl, are in a black office..then i thought holy shit! they must've had people in before who didn't realize that Dr. Smith, who has no pics on his website was black.
guess they were expecting me to bolt!
well educated, articulate..adjunct at a private university here.
he did a fine job and i didn't even want chicken or watermelon afterward
