ISO extractions by The zacdes

OK, ime not going in to my method for the second time to have it all disappear,lol. If your interested, ask me!! The goal is complete extraction without ANY chlorophyll, Many smooth, potent as anything products can be made from this, when done RIGHT, heres a few in various stages of cooking!! I can now get shatterglass near clear, quartz like, with a slight amber tint. Activated charcoal takes most color impuritys!! Only done half a gram to test it so far!! Stuff the double ups,lol. 30% returns are easily possible with bud, but you wont get it with ONE quick pour through, SO, keep ALL as cold as possible and arrange things so you can get three fast pours!! ALL gone then!! One, is simply not enough for such a poor quality solvent, more contact is required, so, its a balance between fast and complete, hopefully BOTH,lol Color varys according to how you cook, not which bloody strain it is,lol. I will do hexane shots next, a good solvent, got some good BHO tips, though i only use it to work out better ways, i will put up my sealable, pressurized tube, complete extraction, and cheap and easy My channel has more info, try hexane honey oil, that should find it!!

BTW, the shitty bits are under the glass dish!!

I made some the other day, came out similar looking Nice clear honey amber tinge.
I have some questions about cooking off the ISO. Took me forever...Do you do a boiling water bath, or direct heat? Do you get the ISO to simmer, or? And how do you know when its all boiled off?

I use a crock pot... also when all the iso is gone i put a couple drops of boiling water in to get any remaining ISO out. Also only use 99% ISO. DO NOT PUT ISO ON A FLAME!! Oh yeah and the iso will pool on top of the oil and create a sheen.

Never use a water bath until all solvent is gone, the moment you see the last OBVIOUS ISO go, pour water in to the electric fry pan or whatever, this cools it fast, then warm it to 120F and simmer for 20 or 30 minutes. It LOOKS like you can SEE the last bit evap, not so, theres still some there, water bath!!! It takes as long as it takes man, no speeding it up ime afraid. I PREFER a slow cookoff, part of why it goes red!! Dont be in a hurry, filter bloody well and strip FAST, Gold is fine, color is not really important, if you spread it out, it will glass up overnight...or faster, must be CLEAR AMBER, not clouded!! If you lump it just before it glasses, you hae solid glass, or resin balls, all in how long you cook!! Simmer is the go, it wont hurt![OIL]

Takes me 72 straight hours to evap my ISO in the slow cooker

Cool, pretty much did all that, and it came out great. Just wanted to see if there were any "tricks" I was missing...Took me about 4-6 hrs. And I thought that was long, but Nates got it beat with 72hrs. Thats crazy...

It takes me[after all is frozen and ready] about 2.5 to three hours max to do an ISO extract, PLENTY of tricks bud, practice, and you will find them!! 72 hours is if you air dry[evap it], not a good idea, cooking is part of getting good and varied products. Air evapping gives you gold glass most all of the time, this is OK, but slow and no choice of product!

Even so bud...72 hours??? Faster, a little heat..120F and you can make all sorts of stuff FAST!! Hows your extraction rate Nate?? Ime getting around 30% from bud, and STRONG, holy shit:/ over 70%[got a mate in the commonwealth labs,lol]

Of coarse, the more weed, the more ISO, can take some time to evap!! After reading more carefully, i see Nate heats his very slowly, thats OK, Air drying with a fan gets heaps of dust and shit in your product, and their is no advantage!!

After the last visible ISO evaps[you can see it go] i leave in oil bath[better temp control and no steam!] but reduce heat instantly to settle it at about 70C, leave it to cook for a while, there is still some ISO there, give it 15 minutes, this helps firm it up too! Then remove, smell the oil, no trace of ISO will be left, let it cool, depending on quality of weed and how well you filtered, it might glass fast, this is a sign of...not so clean, but OK, really good ISO takes a fair bit of cooking to glass! If at all! Mine stays a sort of sticky gel, easy to use! Any harshness in the throat during exhale is a sign of ISO, cook more!! Cooking experiments will give all sorts of results

OK guys, i will type out my method for you, but not tonight, ime too ripped,lol. tomorrow or the next day

OK, i cant be bothered working out how to send messages so here it is, basic!! 1..You will need..two glass bowls,[large] a kitchen sieve with handle, some reasonably fine mesh curtain, a couple of large jars for filtering, the filter should sit nicely on top of the jar with the botton in the jar! FREEZE everything, i mean EVERTHING!! NOW, this method is OK for amounts up to an ounce, if your going to do a couple or more, one at a time, with gear kept frozen till needed, a lot its easier to dry ice extract in a 160 micron bubblebag and extract from kif!! So, take your frozen ounce, or less and put in sieve with curtain inset, now, hold over one bowl and pour 1 liter per ounce, you can do a half liter an ounce, but this gets the lot!! Pour it through, as it slows to a trickle, quickly move sieve to other bowl and pour first bowl through it, then again, and again. I can do 10 pours in less than a minute, thats about your limit, watch the color, the slightest green tinge and its time to stop, four or five pours will do it, but if its still gold and OK, pour again, the better the strip the more oil!! ONE pour through with such an "average" solvent is NEVER going to get ALL your cannabanoids!! Now the crucial fast bit is over. I cant emphase enough the time factor for the strip is critical, thats why freeze everything, it locks up the chlorophyll[temporarily]. Now its time to filter, first, use a standard white painters mask , it gets most shit and makes it easier on the paper coffee filters..Then put it through one coffee filter, in to jar!!, pour off as it fills to another container, time is not a problem now! Lastly, put it through two coffee filters, it should now be clear gold, if still a little cloudy, filter again! Last step,l get an electric frypan, sit evap dish in it, pour in the ISO, and evap at 70C, when the last obvious ISO goes, pour water in to the pan, and let it cook at 70C for 20 or 30 minutes, remove and cool, what you get, depends on a lot of factors, which you will find with practice, its as strong as ANY extract, and is VERY easy to smoke compared to...BHO..yuk That should do it for ya, but practice makes an expert with this stuff, i dont know of another solvent that will give so many different products!! Small runs[5 to 10 gms] are more forgiving, its quick and easy to do a small run for a couple of nights smoking, dont even have to freeze, a slight green tinge wont hurt the potency, its only a bit and it smokes great, 5 grams of GOOD bud will give you nearly two grams, about 30% Leaf, i would not worry about, extract the resin, then ISO it!! Oh, break up your bud in to bits about three mil square, this allows good contact with the ISO for ALL the trichs!!
