Iso wax question! Quick reply for experienced folk!

I just made a batch of Iso wax, with an oz of fire mids (it had purple all in it, not too many seeds, just ugly but smoked good) so i can see how it does before dropping 200+ for some higher quality. Anyways, I made the batch, and last night (12pm) the solution was very green. Today (9pm), I can see a lot has evaporated, but still i'll have to wait longer (used 91% sol.) However, the solution is very brown now. My question is it that normal? Thanks for an answer whom ever!.

you over rinsed it. very green means its basically ruined, you washed the chlorophyl out of the plant and everything, not just the thc heads.

did not freeze the solution or the bud.

10 second rises are what you want, very fast.

91% is also junk, use 99% ISO (also junk) or everclear alcohol/ethanol.

brown/green/black = bad

gold/yellow/white/red = good.

Be sure to pull the seeds.

Stuff that's been off the plant for a while will decarboxylate thca into thc thus browning the extract.

If not green, you did not overwash.

i got a few grams i think, the solution turned red when most of the alcohol evaporated, but the final outcome is dark

try winterizing it in some everclear.

u can winterize.. and polish. look at skunk pharm .. polishing extracts.. I did a hexane and salt water rinse.. and it changed the color dramatically.. so I would try it if u wana experiment. u want a great tasting oil. use butane honestly.

What does winterizing do excatly? I have it on parchment paper, so what do i do re run it or something?

Winterizing causes the non polar lipids to drop out of the solution to leave you with a more potent hash oil.

basically u remove the lipids and waxes and shit that was extracted during the first run.. turning your product into a so called ABSOLUTE..

i don't like ISO.. and wont use it.. i use Ethanol 95% . everclear. .. and butane..

ive tried so many solvents for extraction. that ive come to the conclusion.. that as of right now.. without spending tons of money on a CO2 extractor.. butane is the most consistent . and is harder to fuck up. and easier to get the product u desire ..

if u want WAX.. then don't freeze your tubes. don't chill your butane..

if u want Shatter.. or a Sap Taffy usually with good material the terpenes make it more sappy .. u freeze tubes and chill butane.


and a 10$ turkey baster.. and a 6$ can of butane.. can make up a nice batch of bho.. obv not a huge yield when u can only run 10-28 grams.. but still its better then ISO WASH.

the only way ive found other shit to work great.. was with a WASH.. putting the weed or trim. into a filter.. coffee filter.. and using a type of bottle to be able to saturate the material.. rinse it.. and stop.. switch to a different pyrex, and do a soak on the rest of the material..

but bho is quicker.. and easier to get a great product.
