(CNN) -- Gas prices have plummeted 46 cents a gallon over the past two months, according to a survey released Sunday.
"This has been a true price crash," said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the Lundberg Survey.
The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.38, down nearly a dime over the past three weeks, Lundberg said.
"This crash began back when refining problems around the country were being fixed, one after the other, at the same time that our seasonal gasoline demand was shrinking," she said.

Am I the only person who sees a connection between the onset of so many refinery problems at the same time as a Presidential election when big oil wanted to see the incumbent defeated?

oil companies trying to rig an election? I could endorse this conspiracy theory, it seems very plausible.

Could be because of that idiotic claim he made that he has nothing to do with gas prices, they go up in good times and down in bad. Or in other words, "I have no clue how an economy works". If the right gives him credit for lower prices they will use his own words against him saying it's because the economy is tanking. Whether they believe it to be true or not. Those on the left who bought Obama's words hook line and sinker 2 short months ago will now say the republicans have no clue how an economy works. Politics are fun.

I'm more inclined to join your conspiracy about big oil. It went way down before Bush's term ended and way up before Obama's first term. It wouldn't surprise me at all, OPEC is the devil.

How else are you going to sure up an economy based on petrodollars when no one wants to touch the USD... China won't be trading oil in USD much longer, if they ain't already stopped.

Your perception of left vs right is amusing
