I'm a long time smoker, newbie grower, who inherited three basically dead plants from a girl who had no idea what she was doing. My roommate and I spent weeks nursing these plants back to health and preparing them to begin flowering, and we read everything we could get our hands on to get these plants up to par. I had to go out of town for a few days (I'm about 3 weeks into flowering) and my neighbor watered the plants while we were gone (they're on a light timer), but now that I'm back, its suddenly very clear that my biggest plant has begun showing signs of both male and female flowers. EVERYTHING I read says to get rid of it, but we worked so hard on these plants, I feel like I'm having to euthanize a pet or something. The female flowers look amazingly healthy, but unfortunately so do the male parts
Is it possible to prune off the male flowers to ensure no pollen reaches the female flowers and my other female plants, and to let the hermie's female flowers keep growing? Has anyone ever tried this? The male flowers are still very young, and have not opened or begun spreading pollen yet. HELP!
