It's about time to start feeding my babies: Dyna vs Earth Juice organics....??

Hey there, It's about time to start feeding my babies. They'll be 3 weeks old on the 21st the cotyledons haven't started yellowing or fallen off yet but I want to get my nutes ready for when they do. At my local store (HTG supply is all I have available) I have eliminated all options but two, and I need some help deciding:

Dyna-Grow: (7-9-5)
Dyna-Bloom: (3-12-6)

Earth Juice Organics
Grow: (2-1-1)
Bloom: (0-3-1)

What do you guys think??

It depends on what you want. If you want a nice feeling inside knowing you grew organically, then go with Earth juice. If you want quality and yield, go with DynaGro. I'm currently using DG in my Great White journal, if you like the results then I'd recommend you check them out.

Your ladies are absolutely gorgeous, but that has to do with a lot more than just DG, I'm pretty sure I don't have the same skill set as you ;) lol Since these are just bag seeds I'm going to buy both and do 3 nd 3 and compare

Comparisons are great. I like DG because it's super easy to use and you don't need 10 bottles to compete a grow.

Ak47 below from serious seeds, cost less than $1 to grow. Less than 4mls of base nutes per gallon (used protekt to balance pH in soil at a rate of about 4-5mls/gallon).

My mouth is watering, seriously. I've also read that ak47 is a fairly good beginners choice, true or false?

Nice plant homebrewer. You've probably stated somewhere and I forgot, but what do you use for a medium when running dyna-gro? Any supplements? I'm considering running a controlled experiment using dyna-gro in pro-mix, vs. my standard organic route in a rich, but well draining organic soil. I'm getting bored, need to keep my brain engaged.

The only plants I think are hard to grow are 90+ day sativas. This one goes about 65 days so not too hard at all.

I like sunshine mix #8, which is promix-ish. No supplements, too much work to add to every gallon in the dirt.

I've been most happy with the taste when using earth juice nutrients but have no experience with the DG. With the earth juice be sure to bubble it for 24 hours first. Add a little black strap molasses and you are on your way to some tasty buds.

I've used both (still do) and for a first grow.newb, I'd suggest the Dyna-Gro for a couple of reasons.

Dyna-Gro is simple, 1 part and 100% complete. There is a learning curve with Earth Juice and you WILL need more than just the grow and bloom, more like 5 different bottles, along with equipment to bubble it with.

I've been growing stuff for close to 40 years and there was a learning curve for me when I first started the EJ. For a newb, this can be a bit overwhelming.

It's great stuff, but I'd suggest getting a couple of grows under you belt before going down that road.

I would also suggest getting some Pro-Tekt from Dyna-Gro. It's a silica supplement and I use it no matter what the other nutes are.

I have used pro-tekt already, just the tiniest bit when my seedlings wouldn't stand up. I got good results, its high potassium content is really good for flimsy stems/thin leaves. I could see a serious improvement. Thanks for the advice :)

That's probably good advice man. EJ, or any other organic liquid multi-part nutrient is a biiaatch for a newb to do well with. The key word in the last sentence is "multi-part" (two words, I know).

I actually ended up scoring some roots organic, buddah grow.... a buddy of mines grow failed pretty bad and he decided it wasnt for him, so i got the roots organics (grow & bloom) & three four ft t5's w/ fixtures for 50 bucks, I'm a happy camper.

Good deal for you, bad deal for your buddy. That's what I was going to say about starting with a complicated nutrient line as a newbie, it can almost make you want to give up.

Yeah definitely, personally I think his cunt of a girlfriend poured bleach on his plants, but I guess only time will tell, the truth is always revealed though. I've been gardening for a majority of my life, and grow almost all of my own food. I'm a firm believer that if you listen to your plants they'll tell you exactly what they need, and as long as you're informed you'll know how to provide. The more time you spend with your babies, the better your grow will go!

Agreed. I don't use a tds/ec meter at all, I don't follow a feeding schedule, I read my plants.

Currently using Pro-Mix #4 as a medium and Dyna-Gro, with great results. I honestly think this is a great combo.
