It's alive! First grow - wish me luck!

My White Widow x Big Bud (from Herbies. Theyre great! First package got lost in shipping and they sent me a replacement which arrived about a week later) is alive! Im pretty excited about this, as it is my first grow. While it would be awesome to have a good end result, I want to use this as a learning opportunity more than anything else. Of course if Im lucky and my 2-3 months of reading and research pay off, I wont complain

Anyways, I spent a while browsing this forum in the past as well as reading other material, but only recently started posting on here with a couple of questions. People have replied very quickly and have been pretty nice. So Im excited to get her (hopefully, as it is a fem seed) growing and to know that I have this community for support. Anyways, here's a pic, the first I have seen of her above ground. The cotyledons were still under the soil, just barely, so I used tweezers to get the dirt off of them without really exposing the main root to the light.

Im growing that strain also along with some others from herbies. Mine is about a week old, so far good. Ill try to take pic tomorrow when i turn the lights back on.....

Stop tweezing! It doesn't need your help, trust me. My biggest mistakes so far was being overly zealous. Good luck, man.

What mix you using and i would leave that seedling alone. It will straigten out and break soil on its own, just saying cause i killed alot in the beginning messing with them way too much. I keep a dome on til the seed pops off.

Im using FF ocean forest, with nothing else added to the soil. Ill leave it alone then. Didnt think it would be bad to do that, since it was just barely under the soil, but Ill leave it to do its thing for now.

thats a good soil, good luck with that "big bud x ww" .

I've been growing WWXBB for about a year now.... it too was my first strain and I kept it going for sentimental reasons. It's a good beginner strain as it takes a lot of mistakes and keeps on going. I've found topping it around the 5 week mark will increase the yield by a third. You'll need to stake up the branches the last half of 12/12 as the buds over-load the branches.

Thank you for the advice, I will gladly take any that I can get. And I have read that in the past, that the buds get too heavy and that it needs support. That statement does put a smile on my face =]

Have you ever tried to "lst" this strain cause thats what ive been doing lately. Do you know if it handles it well?

Not a big yielder...I never got more than 2 ounces from one of these, but it's still two ounces of good weed.

It was about 10 minutes away from chop. You'll find that it'll take 9.5 weeks in 12/12 will be when to chop.

Well, 18 hours after first seeing her come out (6 of which were dark), she has decided to stand up and reach for the lights =] Also, shes looking much more green than yesterday... when she was still curled down, one of the cotyledons looks almost purple on the bottom, which I believe is visible in an earlier picture.

I know over watering is a common problem among beginners. I had last watered her almost 2 days ago (before she broke ground). The soil still seems ever so slightly moist. Should I let it get completely dry before giving her more water?
