Its all in the "Pot" right?

So here is another question for you all...I seem to be somewhat on a "roll" for these as of late. Sorry for the puns I'm in that sorta mood.
Anyways the grow closet was just recently made and mind you it isn't that big but a general design, anyways it can hold two basic size pots but do I have to have 5 gal size pots because if so I need one square one..! Any advise or idea on anything particular? I will try to upload some pics of the closet so you can get the jist on which I speak.

when the plant gets bigger that 5 gallon is gonna be ideal, i have a small closet myself and i fit two in there with 2 6 and a half foot plants under a 400 watt hps and a bunch of cfls

IMO, planter size needs to be in relation to your heat, and drainage. I'm in 2 gallon pots that are retaining their moisture for upwards of 15 days, due to my failure to amend my soil before planting, and low (49-70F) temps in bud-a-torium. This is contributing to a yellowing issue I'm tracking down.
In MY case, a smaller planter would be preferred if I can't get those temps up, or better aeration to allow my soil to dry out in 5-7 days, which would be much better than 15 days.

Yeah that plants pretty big. It needs a 5 gallon IMO.

Ok well I don't think it would work out very well if you were to try and put it in a smaller pot.

I think my pot sizes are 2 gal I have to double check. Do remember I haven't planted seeds yet I am just making sure that I got the right equipment to grow. I have plenty of light and the heat is perfect in the closet at this time with no pots in there, but am assuming things to change once there is soil humidity in there but I really am not worried about the heat issues just worried about getting root bound..hence my question on worms and such.
