It's early, but I'm chopping!

I've read the standard methods for telling when to chop, but I can't get over the all heady/no body stone. I pulled my second little nuglet from the plant last night to see where it was at, and speed dried it so I could sample it. It was crazy smooth, and a total head high, which is my preference. There are a handful of underdeveloped buds, which I'm gonna let continue to grow, but I'm gonna start flushing today, and harvest in about a week. This grow is for my own personal enjoyment, so while more yield is always a good thing, I'm not going to sacrifice any quality stone I want for more quantity. Considering this was my first grow, I'm super happy with how it has gone. Any comments are more than welcome.

i'ed chop the tops and let the lower go an other week it was nice for me keeps the demons at bay lol but thats me it looks great but it will frost out more if you let it imo happy toking

hey if ou get a jewlers microscope, you can still get that super head high and stillget good yield. if you look at the trichs with the Micro then you see the color of them. wait til all trichs have a mushroom cap on them and are 70% cloudy, the rest cleat. maybe a few ambers. this will give you the intense psychedelic head high and get a way better yield. wht strain and how long have you been flowering?

Looks nice and healthy for your first grow. Judging by the pics I would say you are 3 weeks premature. But that is just my opinion not scientific fact :bigjoint:. Have a good one!

i love it how noobs are so anxious to chop that they make excuses for it,
dude you could chop in like 3 weeks and still get a mostly head high, ffs i hardly even see any orange pistils yet, let alone trichs.

I have a 30-100x scope, and have been looking at the trics. I just dont want any body high, which is what I am trying to avoid. It's bubblegum

id say leave for about a week or 2 atleast! growing marijuana takes patience, if you leave it longer, much better yield and better quality

Agreed you are way too early, you came this far let them finish..

If you chop now you will be very disappointed when those things dry to the size of dimes. Actual dimes, not dimebags.


Pick a strain that has the qualities you want in the high. Don't try to get a sativa out of an indica, it might work somewhat but the high will be really short too, most of the trichomes will be empty, and the buds haven't even had a chance to grow, much less layer those trics on.

I got a 60x-100x pocket scope for 12.09 at radio shack. Dont make a rookie mistake and chop early. I am just now completeing my first cfl grow. I have done other hps/mh/hid grows and my first shot I made that mistake and really wish I had someone telling me to wait. Perfection takes time. Beautiful girls tho.

I had the same problem your having i wanted to chop them down so bad last week i'm currently on my first grow but i thought about it and waiting doesn't really hurt til i can buy one of those lil loops to look at it closer...cause if your saying you want to avoid a head high by not looking at it up close u might not even get a high and the whole grow will be wasted

If u do harvest now please don't share ur pics because their won't be much left once dried. Be patient dude let sum calyxes form and harvest when u actually have budz cuz all u have now iz a tease. Just watchur trics once them clears are gone and there are a couple amber its time for u to chop

I appreciate all the advice from you guys that want me to let it ride a bit longer to maximize my yield, but by doing so, it will change the type of high I want, so whats the point in getting more yield of a type of herb I do not want when I like what I have now?

Good point! I agree that it should go longer. U can find the same high shortly. I also found that the hardest part of growing, besides keeping ur leaves green, if finding the high u want, and keeping it, throughout your harvests.

If u check thrichs daily, u can add growth, just dont let them go cloudy. If the heady is what u want..IMO

well I understand that you want a heady high, but tbh even if a body stone was added, by letting her go another 2 weeks she will be twice as frosty, and likely twice as strong of a heady high than you are getting now. she has a while to go before any amber by the looks of it. then you factor in the added yield. i dont think you'll be disappointed if you wait. You should chop a nug or 2 now and save it, let her go 2 weeks and compare the two that way you'll know for sure.

I could be crazy but ive also found that the effect has more to do with the strain than the trics. I've let some go pretty late outdoors and still more of a heady effect than body. bottom line dude it will still be much stronger of a head effect in 2 weeks.

bro if you chop that shit now, you will get the hi you recieved last night and it will last about 20 minutes. also after you smoke it for a few days you wont get hi AT ALL, your body will tolerate it too well too easily.

if you chop that thing in like two or three WEEKS, you should be getting a good head hi. you got 4 weeks till its actually ready. those buds are tiny.

stop making excuses to chop it is simply not ready, not for a head hi or anything.

cliudy is what he wants, just not amber

if he wants a good cerebral buzz he should go for about 75% cloudy 25% clear. if he starts seeing the amber come in before this he should chop immediately.

if he chops at clear and no cloudy, its a waste. thats not IMO it is a fact.

at least let the buds fully develope... that's when you start to see rapid change in the color of your resin glands anyways, you can get the high you want without sacrificing yield! for future reference, you want nothing but sativas if that's the buzz you want.
