Its just a rant

I had to kill a whole line of AK 48 from nirvana cuz their unstable genetics only LOOKED like females. I had to pull freaking 8 plants from a perpetual grow all three stages. It only showed itself to be a punk-ass herm at week 4 of flowering. I mean damn it the test clone showed female so I went full go but I guess that's my bad. Anyone still reading this stupid post; are you doing it this way? Plant a seed, grow a few weeks take a cut from it and root it for a few weeks while mom gets bigger and flower the lil cut to sex plant. Then destroy the clone cuz they're small and useless with no real roots then run it out from the mom making cuts if it's a mom and killing them all if it's a boy? I screwed myself doing it this way because I was putting a few in each rotation so now I got gaps. I'm especially pissed cuz nirvana's northern lights did the EXACT SAME THING and seeded out my whole grow and I'm just now getting to sinsemilla again. I don't think the pollen got to anyone but still. there, I feel better now.

It sucks to toss plants. Just had to cut down a whole cycle 4 weeks into flower. And had to wait 2 months to get anything vegging.Set me back hard. Just now can type about it and not get super pissed. Get back in there take some more cuts off your tried strains and kick some gardening ass.

I wish I could take photos of these plants I just chopped today. Both vegged two months and only about 2.5 weeks left under the 1,000 watters and I had to chop them both and cull the clones of them because of it. A beautiful GDP and a beautiful Blue Dream both 5 feet tall and only 2.5 weeks premature :( BHO it is.

The GDP was my favorite strain and she has been cloned down across generation after generation for 15 years :(

Just know you aren't the only one. Be glad you caught them before they opened up. Sorry it happened still. Much positive vibes and wishes your way :)

I'd just buy some clones from Glad, if he'll sell?

I bought a bunch of seeds from greenhouse, barneys, world of seeds and others and most were just rubbish. I'm beginning to think those seed banks keep the best for themselves and sell the junk. I mean think about it, what are we going to do go to Amsterdam and kick someones ass?

I think HomeLessBeans has quite a good point! Of course with clones, if you can find them, you never know what you are bringing home. Kind of like a hooker ;-)

Good luck with your next run brother,

From my varied readings, GHS, Barneys, Dutch Passion and Nirvana get the lion's share of complaints on this forum. They are my four Avoids. My Nirvannies grew well, didn't herm, but were so-so once the bud was cured. Some still-worthy seed names include Serious, Mr. Nice, Sannies and a few other old-school breeders ...

Too bad I it wasn't safer for us to exchange clones. My clone connection has a ridiculous amount of strains to choose from and he always has plants of the same in flower so you can see them, as well as cured buds of the same so you can sample it as well. I have to say though, the fella doesn't grow his strains to their full potential. Look up "Green Acres" up in the thumb. Ridiculous selection and so far everything I've got from him other than the GDP and Blue Dream have been solid and exactly what he claimed. He also has teens and moms available.

Worth a shot if you're having a tough time finding reliable clones.

Hell, I have lots of strains myself. Too bad I don't feel safe dealing with people here.

I suppose if I really wanted to, I could leave some clones at a geo-cached sorta place, that way, I'm out of danger, and somebody gets free clones. Not a bad idea.

Never had a problem in the 4+ years I have been growing and about 5 min after reading this post I went and did my routine nightly garden check and found 1 of my plants 1 week into flour has loads of balls and banannas. motherfucker how devastating to my little 6 plant garden. Strain was kushberry I bought clones from a dispensary in Jackson for the last time.

Why isn't it safe to exchange clones? Don't people do it all the time? How the fuck else are patients supposed to get genetics, clones or beans.

Cant patients trade meds for meds, clones for clones, beans for beans as long as they aren't selling it?

I hope so cause I do it all the time.

There is a good chance you're right but I like to err on the safe side for other reasons. My apprehensions are more in regards to dealing with people here. I'm not so much worried about P2P but more about RIU crooks.

Never had any herms either just terrible genetics, slow growth or mutated growth and small buds. Growing some mr.nice now and I'm happy with them.

I'm getting the same feedback about Nirvana. My logic in breeder choice is/was flawed obviously. I thought AMsterdamn had the longest run being quasi-legal so they should be the best at this breeding thing.....NOPE! I wonder if they didn't accidentally stabilize this herm traint into their northern lights. all the herms I had were northern lights and crosses of northerrn lights. Their Ice and white widow tood 30 seeds each to find a good one but I did find a good one and they aren't crossed with northern lights. Meh, TGA; save my life please!!!! I'm planting chernobyl and qrazy train this week so in 9 months or so I will be either exstatic and waiting for them to ripen or pissed again and pulling premature plants.
