I've got an 8ft wide, 7ft high, 2ft deep closet in a spare bedroom I want to grow in.

I've got a huge closet sitting completely empty in a spare bedroom in my house. I want to set up a grow and the only thing I have so far is the closet. I wouuld like to set up a perpetual garden and the fact that my closet is wide and shallow, leadsme to believe that this won't be very difficult to do.
A couple of problems, there is no power source in this closet, I'm not sure how to ventilate it either. I can go through the ceiling and on one end the wall butts up against the central air unit. I'm not without options. I just need some guidance on the right supplies and approach. On the end not butting up against the central air there are shelves. If anyone is willing to get a noob started, I will be happy to post pics!IMG_20120515_195022.jpg

One problem will be the louvered doors. You'll need to make them light proof.

Do you wanna go Hydro or Soil??

nDefinately going dro. i am thinking about taking thre doors down and using standard doors just for venting out into the room. I can chop them up and then when need be just take them back down and put thelouverd back up.

I would go with DWC (deep water culture) then. 600 watt digital (dimmable) ballast. ... Maybe a 6" cooltube because of the narrow closet. 6" fan etc etc.

Its simple you just have too get started

Got femed seeds. Going to take awhile to get them to clone stage, which is good, because I have to build up from paycheck to paycheck. You don't think something cooler in that tight a space? everything will be in there, mom, clones, crop!

Take a look at mine, I think we have about the same space. I think it will give you some ideas. I just keep the whole room dark so the only light is from the closet. And on my next grow I'm going Scrog with a 600watt.

I started with 1 - 150 watt hps light and 2 dwc bubble buckets then added a 2nd 150 watt. I just got my 600 watt hps about a few weeks ago.

yeah the shelf isnt attached it slidesright out. Just two boards laying across there.
I couldn't see anyway to leave it in. I was considering bubble ponics on one side and taking out the the shelves on the other side. The bottom one anyway because is floor to ceiling up the wall.Mom on the bottom and clones on the top.Threes no light in there so I can't get a good PC of it.

That space will not work unless you build a wall to split the closet. Have 2 separate lights which will heat up both areas veg/bloom. Plus you'll need 2 intake and exhaust fans and as for soil for moms I use a 3" or 4" rock wool cube on top of a 6" rock wool cube.

Now that sounds like a plan. I'm already going to vent out, straight up into the attic. I'm going to have to run some power down from the attic, but its not anything I can't handle. i just want to go perpetual, but it all has to stay in the closet. The room is occupied by my dogs, I'll be damned if I'm gonna lose it all when they get hungry or playful! LOL
Want to get some old solid doors I can hang up there and vent in them and then out up through the attic.

1. remove shelf & hanger rod
2. cover room in "panda film"
3. hang the hanger rod higher with a little bit more support so you can use it for your light(s)

If you have an electrical outlet near the closet, use it with a heavy duty surge protector. Venting hasn't been a issue because the whole room would be dark/light based on the closet you could leave it open, unless you plan to do as you were say (clone/veg/flower) then you would have to look at a way to chamber the closet.

it goes about 3 feet out on both sides from the PC you see up there. I think a storage container/hydro setup could sit off to one side with about 6 or 8 plants and then a make shift slide in wall would be enough to separate it.
