Ive been dealing with some high temps and humidity lately. Canopy temps been 83-85 and humidty has been around 60-70%. havent seen any issues yet. I keep lots of airflow, its just soooo damn hot and humid outside. oh the life of a grower. i love it.

I gotta say that with plants this big in 3 gallon hempy buckets they have required daily waterings almost all of flower. That does tend to be a pain but I feel it gets you more personal with each plant. Getting down there and watering then sucking out the runoff with a shop vac daily allows you to see everything everyday. You get a good look at everything.
Now, the one thing that has really surprised me so far is the smell. I wasnt expecting as potent of a smell compared to soil, but I gotta say, these vortex are DANK. The smells are powerful and strong. Way more than my previous 2 soil vortex. AN's jungle juice w/ lucas formula and bud candy is all I've used in flower. The yield is obviously gonna be way better.( i pulled 7oz. off 2 soil vortex in 5 gal.)

My next run will be super soil w/ vortex and plushberry. After that Im adding qrazy train and space bomb for next year also in super soil. I might have to squeeze a couple of hempy buckets in here and there to see how the other strains respond to hempy.
This is my 1st try with super soil so we will see how that compares to my hempies. Just kinda looking forward to getting a little break from all the waterings. Water only with 7 gallon pots is gonna spoil me haha.
anyway, just wanted to babble a bit. later weed nerds.

VEG ROOM PROGRESS
These 4 plushberry are very vigorous in veg. #2 plant looks to be the most indica but its growing the fastest. really thick stems and big fat leaves. I can tell they have really gotten into the super soil cause the last week they have really taken off. Kinda hope I can hold off before switching to 12/12 but they are getting tooo big. Ive got 2 more weeks left on my vortex hempy run and they have my bloom room full. Ive been topping but they wont slow down, its crazy. As you can see they have really outgrown the 4 vortex clones that are in the front. veg and clone area 012.jpgveg and clone area 013.jpg
Ive taken 4 clones from each PB plant so I can pick a fav pheno to keep around. Also transplanted 4 Qrazy Train seedlings to 1 gallon pots. veg and clone area 014.jpg
And one more pic of the vortex clones. I started topping the vortex sooner this run also. veg and clone area 015.jpg

My 400 watt digital ballast keeps frying my mh bulbs after only 2 months of 18/6. HPS bulbs do fine and never blow before I switch in a new one. I replace bulbs after 1 year of use. Now Ive vegged under hps for a long time and the plants do fine but I can tell they prefer the mh over the hps for vegging. They just seem happier. Ive decided to go back to vegging under hps until I figure this out. Here is the new bulb I got for my veg room. veg and clone area 016.jpgveg and clone area 017.jpg
The ballast is a generic one off of ebay bought new 4 years ago. Never had any problems with it and it has been my work horse since I started growing. Could this be a compatability issue with the mh bulbs. Ive been trying the sunleaves optilume mh. Is there a mh bulb specific to digital ballasts, I cant seem to find one. I consider 4 years of use to be well worth to $$ i paid for the ballast. should i move on and retire this thing? maybe time for an upgrade?? Opinions please nerds

I have two phenos right now. One is more chunkier and has more of a fruitiness to her. The other has the same fruity smell but with more of a funk added to it and more airish buds. hard to explain, kinda like a fruit bowl of DANK

How about rotting fruit? Is it a fresh fruit bowl or an old dead one? I read somewhere vortex smells like rotten fruit

yea, there is a bit of a rotten fruit smell but not much. more fruity to me. definetly not a fresh fruit bowl but not exactly all the way rotten. when I open the door to my flower room and the wafting smell of vortex slaps me in the face I cant help but to laugh a little in amazement that I have been blessed enough to aquire such great genetics. Damn I love TGA.

Im a fan too. I seem to have run into a lot of TGA haters here... kinda makes me scared to pop my next 3 packs

I think most of the haters just dont understand. TGA is growing in popularity day by day. so more and more people are growing TGA genetics everyday. With a higher number of people growing TGA of course there is gonna be some negative feedback but you also have to look at the positive reviews. People have a tendency to dwell on the negative things. Sure, someone might find a bunk pheno in a ten pack but how about the special phenos that could be found. And its not like they charge an arm and leg for there genetics like most popular seed companys. All tga genetics cost the same, it doesnt matter the lineage of the strain, now thats fair.

Ive seen alot of hermie issues lately with the plush berry and ive got a plush run going now. I'm not worried bout hermies, if I find one then I find one. I will discard the plant and move on. I'm not going to discredit all of TGA cause I found a bunk pheno. I look at it like this, If I had 5 kids with the same woman, not all of them are gonna be female, not all of them are gonna be all star athletes either, they will be similar but with differences. Thats how I look at a 5 pack of seeds. I'm looking for that all star female (The Keeper). I'm still new to TGA (only flowered out vortex), but from what Ive seen so far there genetics have outperformed every other breeder Ive tried.

What other breeders have you tried? Ive had DNA and Reserva. And Barneys. So far Im iffy about barneys but I like DNA

Ive tried cannacopia's bc roadkill skunk x deep chunk, bubba kush x deep chunk. Also tried chimera's mental floss(got 2 nice females that hermied hard half way thru flower.) Also tried Green house seeds super lemon haze(tasted like lemon candy but was a very picky plant to grow), white widow, and big bang. the widow and big bang were good just no special keepers found. Also grew Dinafem's power kush(the pheno I had flowered over 90 days indoors and still wouldnt fully mature and stretched more than anything I have ever grew.) I grew alot of big buddhas blue cheese too. its was good just got tired of it really fast.

Mind you most of these strains were grown before I had a real grip on growing. I made alot more mistakes back then and the crops prabably could have been better. Since I found Subcool and TGA and have adapted his way of doing things to my growing situation every aspect of my grow has gotten better. Now there is other strains I am interested in such as DNA's chocolope and martian mean green. those are two strains I have been eyeballing for a loooong time. I hear great things on the chocolope.

Plush berry update. The 4 plush plants were put into flower room 10 days ago at around 42 in. tall. HOLY CRAP that was a mistake. They are getting way too big. Don't get me wrong, I like big plants but these things are on day 10 and already stand 5 ft. tall. I topped a few times early in veg. I even topped the tallest plant right before i put it in flower (which I didnt like doing) and it didnt skip a beat. I would try supper cropping but the stems are really thick and would probably snap. Hope I can manage these plush monsters for the next 8 weeks. This is gonna be interesting. vortex hempy flower 063.jpgvortex hempy flower 064.jpgvortex hempy flower 065.jpgvortex hempy flower 062.jpg
